If you feel too self-conscious to go to the gym or if you feel as though you need to give yourself a little fitness boost then this is the guide for you.
Housework can easily burn some calories, but if you want to ramp it up and achieve your fitness goals then this is more than possible. The next time you clean up, consider putting on some of your favourite cleaning tunes and do some jumping jacks. This will get your heart rate up and because you’re cleaning between each burst of exercise, you won’t even feel as though you are working out. If you want some mini workouts you can do between each cleaning activity then consider doing some squats, push-ups or even lunges.
Another fantastic way for you to get in good shape and burn some calories would be for you to try and take an instructed class. You can also follow a professional workout video. Pilates is a great workout and you would be surprised at how much fun it can be. The only kit you need would be some comfortable clothes and maybe some Pilates socks. You can also buy DVDs if you want. These are ideal if you don’t have an internet connection and you would be surprised at how great they can be at helping you to get into shape.
For a lot of people, the key to sustaining a regimen is actually variety. Sure, you may have a favourite workout DVD and this is great, but at the end of the day, you still need to make sure that you change things up from time to time. If you don’t then you may find that your level of fitness plateaus and that you stop getting results too.
If you find it hard to follow a workout DVD or if you just want to try and see how you can get on by using your own methods, then there is nothing stopping you from buying some equipment. If you are tired of the same old exercises then why not purchase some resistance equipment? You can buy a jump rope, a kettle bell or even resistance bands online and when you do, you will soon find that you are able to achieve great results. Now, you may be thinking that you want to do cardio and not use weights at all. This is fine, but weights will help you to achieve your fitness goals. After all, weights can help you to burn calories just as much as cardio can!
Cardio machines are ideal if you want to work out in your own home. Why not think about investing in an exercise bike while you watch your favourite show? Or even think about getting a collapsible treadmill. When you do, you will soon find that you can get a great result out of your workout and that you have nothing to get in the way of your motivation level. Can’t afford brand-new? Not a problem, so many people sell them second-hand.
