Turning a room into a gym? You have more options than you think

Gone are the days of dark underground dungeons for workout rooms, you can create a style and look anyway you want. With this many options in front of you, you may be having trouble deciding where to start. 

The most important place to start is with your exercise equipment.  These are available in a variety of colors and styles you can create any look and feel you want. Before you decide on color and style you need to select equipment that meets your exercise goals. The selection of equipment is overwhelming when you are a beginner. Flooring is the next important aspect to consider when redesigning your room. This will have an impact on your theme and safety during your workout routine. Gym flooring needs to be non-stick and a durable surface. Gym flooring comes in many different types from which you can choose. Your selection depends on the size of the area you want to cover and budget.

Interlocking rubber gym tiles fit together in a puzzle format. These are a popular choice to cover a smaller area. Are cost effective as it is easy to replace one if you need to.  Rubber rolls are a better option if you need to cover a wider area.

The area you want to use to perform these exercises will determine which wall you need to cover with a mirror. The mirror will give the room a larger feel. The next step is choosing a colour.  This will create the atmosphere of the room. Making it inviting and comfortable will encourage you to use it. In warm climates you may want to select calming blues and greens. In cooler climates you may prefer warm oranges and red. This room like all rooms in your house should reflect your personality and creativity not only the rooms purpose.
