How To Permanently Prevent Hair Deterioration As We Age

While there are many ways to prevent hair deterioration, you need to know that prevention will not happen overnight. You need to develop a regimen and stick with it for the final results to be seen. With that said, here are some tips on how you can maintain your hair and prevent any possible damage by the various external factors around us.

Vegetable Oil and Conditioner Masks

One of the most effective ways to prevent hair deterioration is by using vegetable oil masks. This type of mask will help protect your hair from sun damage and water loss. It will also leave your mane thick and shiny, without having it greasy or oily feeling. This is especially important for hair care after 30 because it produces less oil when we get to a certain age. To make an easy and inexpensive vegetable oil mask for your hair, you need to mix 1 egg with two tablespoons of olive oil. Then, you need to apply the mixture onto your hair and let it sit for 15 minutes. Conditioner masks are also effective in preventing hair deterioration. All you need to do is apply the conditioner of your choice onto your hair and let it sit for 10 minutes, before rinsing with warm water. While there are many types of conditioners out there, coconut oil works best on dry hair while almond oil is better for oily hair.

Rice Water

Washing your hair with rice water is another effective way to prevent hair deterioration. This method will help strengthen the roots of your hair while reducing breakage at the same time. To use this method, all you need to do is collect 10 liters (2.7 gallons) of rice water and wash your hair using it twice a week before shampooing or rinsing with regular water. You can also use this type of hair care after 30 if you are experiencing dandruff problems because rice has natural soothing properties that will relieve an irritated scalp condition.

Other Healthy Hair Masks to Prevent Hair Deterioration

Using hair masks will help improve the look of dry or damaged hair by nourishing, revitalizing, and protecting them from environmental damage due to sun exposure and chemicals in hair products. Here are some effective hair masks you can make at home to prevent hair deterioration:

Shower Cap Masks

Another way to prevent hair deterioration is by using shower cap masks. You can make one yourself at home by cutting the edges of an old clean shower cap until it fits snugly around your head. Then, fill this homemade mask with 1 beaten egg white along with some drops of lemon juice or essential oils that will nourish your hair into a healthy shine. With that said, you can use this mask once a week for 30 minutes before rinsing it off with warm water.

Aloe Vera Hair Mask

To make an easy aloe vera hair mask at home, all you need is pure organic aloe vera gel mixed with equal parts of yogurt. You should apply the mixture to your hair before wrapping it around your head using a towel. Then, leave it on for 15 minutes before rinsing with warm water.

Avoid Parabens in Hair Care

Parabens are a well-known ingredient found in most hair products, especially those that you use to revitalize your hair for a healthy shine. Unfortunately, parabens have been known to mimic estrogen and have been linked with breast cancer. The bad news is that this chemical can be easily absorbed into the skin through regular contact. It takes only seven days after exposure for it to accumulate in the body. In short, avoid using any type of hair product containing parabens. Another reason why parabens are bad is that they lead to hair loss. To prevent hair deterioration, you should choose paraben-free hair care products.

Don’t Use Heat on Your Hair

While there are many ways to get rid of frizzy hair, using heat is not the answer. An easy way to make sure that your mane stays healthy is by not exposing it directly to heated styling tools. This also means that if you color your hair in any way, you need to do so only in moderation because too much exposure will cause damage instead of preventing it. If you insist on highlighting or coloring your beautiful dark hair, then use a cap and low temperature when doing so for them to stay shiny and healthy without having them dry out or break apart prematurely.

Once you start taking care of your hair, there will not be any need for expensive hair treatments that require professional services only every so often. It is important to remember that prevention starts at home and it can be as easy as using homemade hair masks once a week or doing overnight vegetable oil and conditioner masks regularly. These simple hair tips will help maintain healthy hair while preventing them from damage due to sun damage and other environmental factors.
