Put the Bottle Down: Signs You Drink Too Much Alcohol

alcoholHaving a glass of your favorite wine every once in a while isn’t a problem… until it is. Understand the signs you drink too much alcohol.

About 86.3% of Americans who are over 18 have drunk alcohol. Of those people, 14.1 million people struggle with an alcohol use disorder. For some, what started as casual drinking turned into full addiction.

If you find yourself drinking often, you may wonder what the signs you drink too much are. If you find that any of these signs apply to you, then it’s time to seek help.

Friends Comment on Your Drinking

When other people start noticing, it’s a sign you’re drinking too much. They may comment on the number of drinks you have. Or they may say something about how you “handle your alcohol.”

If you aren’t sure, you can compare your level of drinking with “low risk” drinking standards. For men, this is 14 drinks in a week or four drinks in a day. For women, the limit is seven drinks in a week or three drinks in a day.

You’ve Set Limits but Never Stick to Them

Have you tried to limit yourself to a certain number of drinks, only to fail to adhere to it? Pay attention to how many times you promise yourself to have a particular amount, and then surpassed that number. Repeatedly failing to stick to your limit is a sign that you’re losing control.

Everything You Do Involves Alcohol

Do all of the plans you make center around drinking? When drinking becomes the focal point of your social and home life, there’s a problem. Another sign is if you avoid activities where alcohol isn’t involved.

If you see these trends happening, try to change your habits. Ask friends to meet for activities that don’t involve alcohol, such as drinking coffee or trying a Pilates class.

You Reach for a Drink When Stressed

If you find yourself turning to alcohol when stressed out, then this is a sign of a problem. Alcohol may provide you with short-term relief from the stress, but it isn’t a long term solution.

Instead of drinking, try breathing deeply, working out, or removing yourself from a stressful situation. If these tactics don’t work, then reach out to one of the best rehab treatment centers in your area. They can help you develop healthy habits for dealing with stress.

You Have Hangovers

Getting a hangover every once in a while is one thing; having them consistently is a problem. If you experience hangovers multiple times a week, then this is a sign that you’re drinking too much.

Another sign of a problem is if your memory is hazy or you can’t remember at all what happened the night before. You should be able to remember the events from previous nights without struggling.

You experience an Asian Glow/ Flush Syndrome
If you’re drinking alcohol you will know if you have this condition called asian glow syndrome when the red face is the most notable sign of this condition, there are several other unpleasant symptoms that go along with it. This happens because of an accumulation of acetaldehyde, a toxin that is produced when the body metabolizes alcohol. However, some people are deficient in this important enzyme and much less able to break down these toxins. When these people drink alcohol, the toxins accumulate and end up causing the reaction known as Asian flush.
If this happens to you, you can try some diy alcohol flush reaction cures. One of which is a strategic drink selection where you have to pick alcoholic drinks that work best for you and your symptoms.

Do You Experience These Signs That You Drink Too Much?

If these signs that you drink too much sound all too familiar, then it’s time to take action. The first thing you can do is start tracking your intake. This can give you a realistic view of your alcohol consumption.

Then, try changing your habits. You can make new plans with friends and start changing how you deal with stress.

Alcohol if consumed reasonably, each small glass a day will be good for health, but if you drink too much, it will definitely adversely affect your liver. mapquest driving directions

I fully support the opinion that there should be a measure in everything. It’s important to remember that you can hurt yourself. But you should also understand that there is nothing wrong with ordering alcohol delivery and having a good time with close friends.

Drinking too much isn’t something to be ashamed of, because Alcohol Use Disorder is a medical condition. What you do about it once you suspect you’re jigsaw puzzle headed in that direction, however, is a choice only you can make.

No one is safe from a hangover, except for people who don’t recognize alcohol at all. Not everyone and not always can avoid the feast and the use of alcohol. Therefore, to get in shape in the morning, to suffer less from the consequences of a fun night out, you need to choose Hangover Cure.
