fitness bootcampYou may already have a gym membership that isn’t being used, or you can’t face the gym as the very thought tires you out…

The unmotivated feeling is likely to worsen during the winter months as the nights start to get darker and everyone is curling up in their cozy pajamas in front of the TV with a bowl of snacks.

Okay, so the gym isn’t for you, but don’t lose faith; there are ways you can still keep without having to sign up to a gym membership. If you’re on the lookout for fun alternatives, here are some ideas to consider that may spark your love of fitness again:

Aerial Hoop

One of the biggest trends right now is the art of aerial hooping. This form of exercise is designed to strengthen your core and upper body, so it’s a fantastic way to keep fit and toned.

This fitness regime is fairly simple – you’ll be using a large round ring that is suspended above the ground, and your job is to sit, stand or hang off it; using your muscles to retain balance. As you improve over a number of sessions, you’ll begin to learn trickier moves that are often turned into a routine. Over time, you should start to notice an improvement in your flexibility, coordination, balance, most importantly – your confidence.

Spin classes

You probably bought an exercise bike years ago that you stored in your garage and never used, but spin classes are another great exercise regime if you’re a fan of cycling. Gyms with spin classes will teach you the key concepts of non-competitive indoor cycling designed to pump up your speed on the bike. A particular class at Chuze Fitness is made into a thrilling experience with the inclusion of the MyRide Program, which simulates riding through glorious terrain. What’s more – it’s completely ideal for beginners!

Indoor climbing

If you’re looking for fun activities to do with your friends at the weekend, then a session of indoor climbing would make a great past time, as well as burning calories in the process. As you work out your way to the very top of the wall, you’ll be toning your legs, upper body and core due to the level of balance and grip required. If you hate the gym, this would make a great alternative as your whole body is treated to a full workout.

Boxing

If you have loads of energy you need to get rid of, then you should try your hand at boxing. With the act of performing quick, strong punches, you’ll actually be giving your whole body a workout. Boxing has been proven to build on your core strength and increase stamina. You should also start to notice improvements in your flexibility, balance, and coordination.

Trampolining

If you’re looking to lose weight and keep your heart pumping, then trampolining would be a great fitness option. During classes, you’ll be bouncing around to music while performing simple routines, which makes for a fun and enjoyable fitness experience. Within one session, it’s likely you’ll burn around 650 calories – impressive, huh?
