You’ve been so good about your diet and are finally seeing some results. The problem is that you’ve been invited to a bachelor party. You know there will be lots of drinking and less than healthy food options.
There are a few choices to make. One is that you skip the party. That’s not a great option. The next option is to just go ahead and throw your diet out the window for a day or two. And the last option is to do your best to stick to the diet.
If you’ve been good about sticking it out and even maintaining your diet while traveling when things get difficult then it means you can do the same for the bachelor party.
For the sake of this article, we will go with option #3 and give you some tips on how to stick to the diet at a bachelor party.
Ask for accomodation
Hopefully your friends understand how serious you are about this diet and don’t want to see you fail. If they are good friends, then it makes sense to ask them to do you a favor and have some healthy options for you come dinner time.
If you are the best man and in charge of the planning of the bachelor party then this is made easier. You will be able to plan an event somewhere that has some healthy options. Since you are taking charge and doing all the legwork and have already bought a nice gift from Groomshop for your buddy, then this is a nice bit of payback for you.
Fill up before you go
Falling off the wagon and going in for a big cheat day is made less likely when you go in with a full stomach.
An hour or so before you get to the venue, have a big meal of all the things you can eat. Make sure to eat filling foods that won’t have you hungry in an hour or two.
Things like beans and high fiber vegetables are always very filling and will leave you feeling satisfied for a long time.
Stick to the protein
You may take in more calories than you want, but by sticking to protein you at least won’t be messing with your insulin by eating lots of carbs.
Try to avoid fried food, even if it is protein. Keep it light and lean and eat a steak or a burger without the bun to keep things light.
Sauces ae usually full of salt and sugar so ask for them to leave any off of your meat. If buffalo wings are being served, ask for yours without sauce at least.
Drink sparingly
Have a drink early on and really milk it for a while. If you finish it quickly, you’ll be tempted to go for more to have something in your hand.
Allow yourself one or two drinks since it will be hard to avoid.
