the art of international massage therapyThe definition of massage is the kneading, working, or manipulation of muscles and joints to relieve stress and joint pain. For thousands of years, different parts of the world have meticulously perfected their version of the art of massage. On your next international adventure, be sure to book an appointment with a massage therapist in the area you are traveling to get the most authentic experience.

Types of Massage According to Region

Amma Massage

Amma is a form of traditional Japanese massage. It is believed to have come into practice over 5,000 years ago and is based in maintaining the delicate balance between body and mind.

Amma techniques combine the use of stroking, stretching, pressing, and manipulative percussion. Much importance is placed on the transference of positive energy from the therapist to the client through the use of fluid, smooth movements. Amma can be performed either sitting or lying by using a massage table, but it is suggested that the client lay down for the duration to improve energy flow.

Ayurvedic Massage

Ayurvedic massage originates from India and has also been found to have been used for over 5,000 years. This type of therapy incorporates the use of yoga, massage, meditation, herbal remedies, and the adoption of a specific diet plan.

An Ayurvedic massage therapist will recommend which oils to use based on his or her observation of the client’s specific make up. This element of therapy is unique to Ayurvedic massage. The pairing of clients and oils can depend on their physique, diet, and ailments.

Balinese Massage

This type of Indonesian massage focuses on attaining a client’s point of ultimate relaxation. Depending on your state of mind when you arrive for your Balinese massage, the session could go on for hours until the therapist has determined you have been put into a state of complete calm.

The result of such a long and focused massage has been known to promote blood flow, especially to ailing joints or muscles. It also can increase oxygenation of the blood and can enhance energy afterward.

Hilot Massage

Hilot massage therapy comes to us from the Philippines and has been used as a healing type of massage for centuries. It is combined with other techniques to promote good health and help to cure ailments. The therapy can be whole body or can be focused on specific areas of the body where irritation, pain, or sickness are present.

Thai Massage

Thai massage is based with an Indian root. It originated in India centuries ago and has been adapted to incorporate specific acupressure techniques. In addition to acupressure, Thai massage also incorporates yoga and other types of stretching to improve energy flow and muscle tension release.

The Benefits of Massage at Home

While exploring the world is nice, there is nothing like coming home. In the states their are plenty of ways to get your exotic massage fix as many individuals who specialize in massage are trained in one or more of the above ancient techniques. There are also various types of massage chairs and a wealth of massage products you can use at home to help relieve stress, muscle tension, and joint pain. The most popular home massage products include chairs and tables, essential oils, and aromatherapy.

Of course, massage helps very well in many cases, and this is an indisputable fact. For me, this is one of the most pleasant relaxing procedures, but I was especially impressed by the deep tissue massage ashiatsu. I went to one wonderful massage therapist in London on the advice of friends and went through several procedures. This foot massage really does give you great results to really improve your well-being, so if you want to experience these beneficial effects, then I recommend everyone to learn more about ashiatsu massage.

How does deep tissue massage affect health? Is it worth trying?

After a hard day, each of us needs to relieve physical, muscle, emotional stress and, at least temporarily, get rid of unnecessary thoughts and worries. Our tired muscles and joints will benefit greatly from a relaxing massage. Every time I sign up for a massage with the specialists of this center https://therapivity.com/massage-therapy-services/, since it is next to my gym.
