4 Ways To Look After Your Health This Summer

fitnessSummer is just around the corner, and you’re undoubtedly laying in wait for a time when you can leave the house in just a t-shirt and without the need of an umbrella and coat. Looking after your health in summer is just the same as looking after your health during the other seasons. However, summer comes with a little more temptation to put your healthy lifestyle and routine on the backburner in favor of having fun. As summer approaches, it’s time to tell yourself that you’re going to resist the urges to eat multiple ice-creams in one day as well as staying out late in the bar with friends.

Lose Weight

If you’re dreading summer because you’re unhappy and overweight, then seek help as soon as possible. Surgery is an option if you don’t feel you can lose weight alone. Be sure to get planting before the warmest summer months, as this way you’ll have plenty of fresh vegetables to eat from the beginning to the end.

Be Prepared

As brilliant as summer is, it is not without its dangers. So with this in mind, always be prepared for hot sun and an increase of pollens in the air. Carry both sun cream and sunscreen with you at all times, and be sure to apply the cream at regular intervals throughout the day liberally. Try and take a lightweight bag carrying essentials around with you during summer, and carry a water bottle with you (one without BPA), hay fever medication, plasters, and insect repellent.

Keep Active

Look after your health this summer by continuing to engage in physical activity and the sports you love. Just because it’s summer and you’d rather be outside with friends drinking beer and having a BBQ, doesn’t mean you should abandon all of your progress towards becoming healthier, slimmer, and fitter. There’s no excuse not to get out in the sunshine, so try to walk outdoors and take your dog along with you for treks and hikes. Wait until the heat has died down somewhat if you’re keen to get active outside in the summer evenings.
