When Do You Need A Chiropractor?Back pain is among the most common causes for work absences. If you’re calling in sick, because your back is killing you, you’re not alone. It’s been reported that the majority of Americans will experience back pain, at least once in their lifetime.

Long hours, driving in endless traffic jams and hours spend seated at in an uncomfortable chair at your workstation are some of the culprits behind your back ache. Fortunately, there is a solution to your chronic back pain. The services offered by chiropractors will give you the much-need pain relief you desire. Plus, chiropractors can also provide therapy, advice and pharmaceutical drugs.

There are chiropractor offices everywhere – from Washington to New York available for your spinal health. If you live in California near Newport beach, Premier Health Chiropractic is the chiropractor for you.

What is a Chiropractor?

Under the broad field of medicine, chiropractors are a group of practitioners who diagnose, treat and prevent musculoskeletal disorders. In the treatment of back-related disorders, these practitioners commonly use manual spine manipulation therapy to help restore the spine to a more natural and comfortable position.

Risk Factors

In a medical practice, it’s often advisable to identify incidents or activities that increase one’s likelihood to feel pain or be affected by a medical condition. It’s not surprising that mentally stressful jobs often increase back pain, especially those pains in the lower back.

In addition to work-related stress, it’s also been found that pregnancy predisposes women to this condition. Additional care should be considered during pregnancy. Not surprisingly, an excessively sedentary mode of life is identified as one precursor for lower back pains.

Other important factors include:

·  Smoking

·  Anxiety

·  Obesity

·  Depression

·  Strain

·  Poor adherence to instruction when doing strenuous exercise

Signs and Symptoms

With all medical conditions, symptoms are feelings that affect patients. Whereas, signs are often detected by chiropractors and aren’t something the laymen can typically define.

It’s important to stay in touch with your body and detect when your body requires proper treatment. Chiropractors advise patients to make their body a priority. Immediately contact a chiropractor or a doctor if you observe any of the following:

  • Significant unplanned weight loss
  • Persistent back plain that does not ease with a change in posture
  • Pain in the legs, below the knees
  • If you’ve sustained a recent injury
  • Numbness in genitals
  • Inconsistency in bowel control
  • Difficulty passing urine

In addition to these symptoms, it’s been observed that people taking steroids, abusing drugs and who suffer from cancer often deal with back discomfort.

Tips and Common Therapies

Manual spinal manipulative therapy commonly involves using hands to mobilize, massage, adjust and apply traction or influence to your spine. It requires the chiropractor to keep hands on your for a while, but the manipulations should result in instant relief.

The most common means of treating back ailments include:

·  Diversified therapy

·  Promotion of physical fitness

·  Corrective and therapeutic exercises

·  Nutritional adjustments

·  Stress reduction recommendations

Check Your Insurance

If your back hurts, don’t wait for it to get worse. Call your insurance company and look into your coverage. Then, call a chiropractor and schedule a visit. Your insurance should cover a large portion of your chiropractic care, but expect to pay a co-pay.

It’s a good idea to ask your chiropractor what other services they provide. Your insurance is going to provide payment for these additional services. If you’re ready to quit smoking or lose weight, chiropractic care can help. Backaches aren’t the only thing a chiropractor treats.

My neck bothered me for years before I finally went to a chiropractor and I am happy to say that today I am completely pain free. My chiropractor is located in Salt Lake City Utah at http://slcchiro.com/.
