What a Second Nose Job can Fix

nose jobA nose can easily make someone feel uncomfortable. Thank heavens for surgery for our noses. Noses get broken. We are born with noses we are just not satisfied with. These reasons are perfectly valid to have a revision rhinoplasty. What happens though is sometimes your first nose surgery is not quite right. No surgeon is perfect. No patient is perfect. Things can happen. Just like art, plastic surgery can be corrected by the right individual. With art it is the right artist, with nose surgery it is the right plastic surgeon Here are the most important ways a revision nose job can help.

Unwanted Bumps and Jutting Bones

Your first nose surgery could have not gone well. This is not to be of concern. This happens to many people. A revision rhinoplasty can easily fix any bumps or jutting bones that were a result of the first nose surgery. There are many places where a surgeon could possibly not have it quite right when it comes to doing nose surgery. There are only a few really excellent nose surgeons in the country. You want one of the best surgeons giving you the best nose you can get. You always want to consider the risks with any surgery. The Mayo Clinic lists the risks with nose surgery like bleeding, infection, and possibly an adverse reaction to the anesthesia. Every precaution is taken to not allow these things to happen when the right team is on your side.

Easily Correct Deformities

Any errors that your first nose surgery left you with, a revision rhinoplasty can fix. It is not entirely your surgeon’s fault all the time. Having the right surgeon is very important. All surgeons are not created equally. You want someone who knows how to navigate the delicate tissues of the nose. Also, the bone can need some sort of placement, but less often. According to Harvard Health Publishing, many people get nose surgery to help them breathe better. Nature does not always work perfectly, that is where surgeons come in. Surgeons can help fix what nature perhaps didn’t get right the first time. Then there are surgeons who can fix what another surgeon did not quite get right the first time.

The Right Surgeon

It is important to have the right surgeon to perform the revision nose job. If the first surgeon did not do a good job, then maybe you should not go back there. Traveling is so easy these days, that it might be a good idea to find the right surgeon in another state if you have to. According to Dr. Daniel Becker MD, rhinoplasty expert from New Jersey, rhinoplasty can be a life-changing experience for patients who have never liked their nose or who suffer from breathing problems.

Content with your Revision Results

When you unwrap the bandages from your revision rhinoplasty, you want to be content with what you see. You want to be able to smell better, breath better. This is your own money you are spending as insurance does not cover cosmetic procedures. In some cases, you can get help from insurance. According to JAMA, ultimately, “functional and aesthetic considerations come into play for all rhinoplasty procedures.” WebMD has the right suggestion for when you first are considering a nose procedure. Web MD suggests “If you are thinking about getting a nose job, set up an appointment with your surgeon to discuss it. During that meeting, talk about your goals and tell the doctor what bothers you about your nose and how you would like to change it.” This applies also to your consideration for revision rhinoplasty.

Getting a revision rhinoplasty sometimes is necessary to set everything right. Having the right surgeon you can talk with is important. Your confidence in the surgeon will help you make the right decision on whether to get the revision rhinoplasty or not. If you are not satisfied with the way your nose looks, your nose can be corrected. If you are having a function issue with your nose, this also can be corrected. You always want to take the best care of yourself before and after surgery so your recovery time is short. This includes drinking plenty of water, eating foods like fruits, vegetables, and lean meats. Exercise is also very good to help before and after the surgery. Fresh air and good sleep are also important.

When you are ready to take the next step with your revision rhinoplasty contact a good surgeon. Have a conversation to make sure the second one is necessary for you. There are several good surgeons who are more than capable to get your nose right, so you can go on living a healthy, clear-breathing life. You deserve to be happy with the way your nose looks. Your self-esteem will improve with the improvement of a pleasing look of your nose.
