healthy travelNothing can be as rewarding and refreshing than getting away to a vacation destination. With ever-growing commitments of busy lives it is becoming hard for us to live a healthy lifestyle. Whether you are a busy lawyer from Prime Sydney Lawyers, or work in a multinational assistant to CEO, finding an escape to a vacation is what we all long for, however, it is equally important to stay healthy while you enjoy some leisure time.

If you are planning to go on vacations this year, these tips will go long way to help you stay healthy during your vacations:

Keep Healthy Snacks During Travel:

You may not be aware of the fact that what you eat during travel has it effects on your health. The long hours during travel may seem tempting to munch on unhealthy meals or snacks. There are many healthy alternatives that you can pick such as, veggies, fruits or nuts, sandwiches with whole wheat bread, or salads are also readily available at restaurants.

Don’t Forget to Eat Breakfast:

Eating breakfast is one of the healthiest habit that you must not give up even during your vacations. Where ever you have planned to stay, choose healthy breakfast that would keep your energy high during whole day as healthy breakfast does not require a lavish election of menu items.

Follow a Meal Schedule:

Scheduling your meal during vacations might seem a bit boring; however, a tiny effort is worth your time. As not skipping a breakfast is a healthy habit, a scheduled meal is equally important. Eat when you are really starving. Make sure you keep healthy snacks with you when you leave your hotel or resort. It is important to avoid eating all the day long instead eat with a specific plan, for that you can choose particular time and place for meals.

One Plate; OneMeal:

Many hotels and restaurants have buffet which seems really difficult to resist with countless dishes to try. However, it needs little effort to resist the urge of eating too much and stick to the rule of ‘one plate at a time’. For this you need to follow one-plate meal strategy, for example, you can first fill half of your plate with salad, other portion to be filled with other dishes of your choice. Moreover, don’t pick sugary juices and beverages instead stick to cocktail.

Try Local Cuisine:

Eating local cuisine is one of the good way to stay away from fattening meals such as burgers, fries and coke. Many destinations offer a healthy food. Instead of eating fast food, a vacation is a good opportunity to try local food as well as remain healthy.

Pay a visit to Local Grocery Store:

Being on vacation does not mean that you must eat every meal form outside. Instead, visit a local grocery store and get some fresh vegetables and fruits. It is a good way to keep a healthy and quick breakfast or lunch available. If you plan to go on hiking or to local museum, keep sandwiches in your bag for a light snacking.

Stay Hydrated:

Nothing can be healthier than filling your stomach with water when you feel tempted to eat what is readily available. Make it a habit to keep a water bottle with you and stay hydrated with water and some fresh fruit in it makes it a nutritious refreshment.

Develop Love for Veggies:

Vegetables help your stomach function properly.Whether you order a full meal or a side order, keep vegetable on top of your menu list. These are good source of fiber which helps you stay light and filled at the same time, preventing stomach problem.
