How To Still Take Care Of Your Hygiene While On A Road Trip

When you’re on the road, it can be hard to keep up with your hygiene. A long trip requires you to find ways to keep your teeth clean, your hair brushed, and your body fresh with all the essentials of personal care.

A Single Soap Bar Can Go A Long Way

If you’re on a road trip for a week or two, try to bring just one soap bar, which can last for the whole trip if you’re using it properly. It may sound counterintuitive to take a bar of soap with you when there is a possibility that you might not have access to water every day, but chances are your hotel will have some available in the shower and sink area. If not, ask your front desk staff about nearby options.

In most cases, being able to wash up at least once a day is enough to keep yourself from developing skin issues or getting sick from clogged pores due to dirt and grime accumulating over so many days without any cleaning. If you want to read more about how to use bar soap while traveling, and how convenient a single soap bar can be in these situations, there is plenty of resources out there, all you have to do is a little bit of googling. But if you really want to play it safe, you can bring small bottles of hand sanitizer with you.

Bringing Small Bottles Of Shampoo And Conditioner Will Make You Feel More At Home

When trying to stay clean on the road, you may find yourself forced into some unconventional shower situations. Instead of giving up on hygiene altogether, try bringing small bottles of shampoo and conditioner, or even bar soap that can double as shampoo. This way you can still get your hair washed every day (or every other day), which is important if you want to avoid lice or dandruff down the line. To make this trick even easier buy travel-size versions of these items that you can stash in a purse or duffel bag.

By using this method, you’ll be able to wash your face every day as well, just remember to use moisturizer after you’re finished! If moisturizer doesn’t work for your skin type, bring along some sunscreen and lip balm too. You never know when the sun might shine or when the weather will turn cold and windy, so it’s good to always have these items on hand.

Pack Some Hand Sanitizer And Baby Wipes To Stay Clean Even Without Water

You never know when you might be stuck in a traffic jam or delayed at the airport. If you’re afraid you’ll miss out on your daily shower, consider bringing some travel-size bottles of hand sanitizer and baby wipes. These can be useful to wipe off dirt, grime, smudges that accumulate on the screen of your phone or laptop, or even just to rub down your body after sweating.

Baby wipes can be used to wipe down your hair and body if you’re unable to get yourself into a shower, which can make it easier for you to get through an extended road trip without any major hygiene issues. Just remember to use deodorant if necessary after using baby wipes!

Bring A Toothbrush And Paste To Brush Your Teeth Every Day

When you’re constantly on the road, it can be difficult to remember when you last brushed your teeth. You might find that you brush in the morning, then forget by lunchtime and find yourself in a situation where brushing your teeth is impossible until the end of the day. To make sure this doesn’t happen to you, bring along a travel-size toothbrush and toothpaste every time you go on a trip. Most hotels will provide these for free if requested at check-in, so you shouldn’t have any trouble finding them when needed. Not only are they great for freshening up after meals or before bedtime, but using them multiple times per day can help prevent bad breath caused by food stuck in your gums.

Pack An Adequate Supply Of Toilet Paper

While this may seem like an obvious step, you’d be surprised by how many people manage to leave home without any toilet paper stocked away in their vehicle. Even if you’re going on a long trip with friends or family members, make sure everyone agrees to bring some along to avoid unpleasant surprises when nature calls. If you’re going camping or exploring wilderness areas that don’t have much around the next bend, then the situation becomes even more important. You might want to consider bringing a roll from your house as part of your emergency kit so you can always have one available.

Bring A Blowdryer To Speed Up Your Hair Drying Time

On long car rides or road trips through sunny climates, you may find yourself feeling overly sweaty at some point during the day. Rather than allowing this discomfort to fester, bring along a handheld electric dryer so you can get yourself completely dried off in a matter of minutes.

Not only will this help to get rid of the moisture on your skin and hair, but it can also increase your comfort level while driving if you’re not used to feeling overheated. If there isn’t enough space for a travel-size dryer or outlet power strip, then consider bringing along a few hair clips and some bobby pins so you don’t have to sacrifice your style in the name of hygiene!

Don’t Forget About Skin And Hair Care Products

It doesn’t matter how much water you have, if you don’t have the right soap and shampoo it can be tough to get clean. But there are other products that can also make a big difference in your life during a road trip.

If your skin tends to dry out easily, then bring some lotion along with you whenever you’re going on a long trip. Even if you aren’t going anywhere particularly cold or windy, having lotion around is great for taking care of your skin after working or playing hard all day. You may even want to think about bringing sunscreen too, especially if your destination is somewhere hot where spending time outdoors is inevitable.

We hope that this article has helped you to learn some of the different ways in which hygiene can be compromised while on a long road trip. Although it may seem like an inconvenience, taking care of your personal needs will go a long way towards ensuring comfort and happiness during any excursion! There are many products available for purchase online or at major retailers if you’re not sure what all should be included in your emergency kit. At the end of the day, remember that no matter how much fun you’ve had exploring new places, nobody wants to get back home feeling dirty and smelly.
