How to Become the Best Version of Yourself

Relieve StressHow many times have you asked yourself, “Who am I?”, “What am I doing?”, “Could I be happier?”? The answer to all those questions can only be answered by you, but in order to be fair to yourself, you need to ask those questions when you’re in your best frame of mind.

At that point, you need to open yourself up to being the best version of yourself.

We all change from year to year and this is allowed but with changes like marriage, kids, divorce, or whatever comes our way we still need at that moment to be the best version of ourselves. A healthy life is what we need to strive for first and foremost. Healthy living includes eating well and exercising. It also includes positive life experiences and keeping yourself surrounded by positive people. Spending time with loved ones and travel are also great ways to stay in this positive place.

Exercise can sound like a scary word to some. There are so many options of exercise that can really make a person feel good. Stand up paddle boarding can incorporate travel and a work out if you decide to do this at a lake or a beach not close to home. If standing up isn’t something you see yourself doing you can do it sitting down and though it’s not as strenuous it is still exercise and rewarding. Running and lifting weights are not the only exercises out there. For those with limited means to leave the home, how about Studio SWEAT onDemand spinning classes available for streaming? Canoeing, swimming, and hiking are all incredibly enjoyable ways to get out of the house and even meet new people.

It sounds simple but really it’s a lot of work. Eating healthy is definitely more expensive than eating poorly. Finding ways to lower expenses on food, like finding your local farmer’s market where you can buy fresh fruit and vegetables. Cutting coupons or downloading apps that save money on healthy foods are all good ideas. If there is a will there is a way to bring healthy foods into your life.

The bottom line is that you are the best version of yourself when you feel good.

This leads to our next topic: looks. Over-obsession with our looks and compulsively trying to look great at all times is not exactly healthy, but the desire to look good is natural and shouldn’t be considered vain in and of itself. Simple techniques such as daily use of the best natural serums for the face and drinking plenty of water can vastly improve skin tone and lead to a more youthful appearance. The result, for most people, is undoubtedly a greater level of confidence which often translates into becoming a better person.

Now travel will make anyone feel good. Maybe not the actual act of waiting on line and driving or flying, but arriving at the destination is sure to enhance your life. Everyone is in need of rest and relaxation and adventure. Adventure makes you feel alive and gets your blood pumping. You don’t have to consider riding a jet ski as an adventure; for some of us seeing a whale on a boat cruise is enough adventure. These experiences are all positive influences on your life.

Nurturing healthy relationships is very important when trying to become the best version of yourself. Gossiping and being unkind doesn’t help anyone feel good on the inside. These kinds of behavior usually foster unhealthy results and no one wants that.

Being happy all of the time just isn’t realistic, but when you’re the best version of yourself dealing with the ups and downs of life can actually be easier. You don’t feel as down as you would when you’re not caring for yourself. Think of a car, if you don’t change the oil, adjust the fluids, keep the tires filled, and cover the rust spots your car won’t last. So taking care of yourself and creating healthy habits will reward you with the very best version of yourself.
