Green tea has been used as a traditional medicinal drink in China for more thousands of years. The Chinese have always known that green tea is good for the body and mind because it contains powerful health-promoting substances. Modern science has now confirmed the health benefits of green tea, and it is now known that drinking green tea can help to protect against a wide range of diseases. The main health benefits of drinking green tea include:

1) It Burns Calories

The first benefit we’re going to discuss is that green tea can help you to burn calories. This is great news for anyone who wants to lose weight. The reason that green tea helps you to burn calories is that it contains a substance known as EGCG (Epigallocatechin gallate), which has been proven to boost metabolism and increase fat oxidation. As we know, burning more calories than we consume results in losing body fat, so drinking green tea or matcha thee (a powdered version of green tea) can help to speed up weight loss. If you’re looking for ways to lose weight while still enjoying your favorite foods, then green tea is the answer.

2) Green Tea Boosts The Immune System

Studies show that drinking green tea makes it harder for bacteria to stick to cells, which will help you avoid getting sick. This is because green tea contains substances known as catechins, which are antioxidants that protect against various strains of the flu. Another study found that green tea can reduce the chances of developing cancer, which is another reason why drinking green tea is so good for you. This is because cancer is often caused by the damage that free radicals do to cells, and green tea’s antioxidants can help to prevent that damage.

3) Green Tea Boosts Muscle Growth

As we know, green tea helps with weight loss, but it also has other benefits. One of those benefits is that it can help you to build muscle. This is because green tea contains substances known as L-theanine and caffeine, which have both been shown to boost muscle growth. In fact, one study showed that people who combined green tea with resistance training gained more muscle mass than those who didn’t drink green tea. So, if you’re trying to lose weight and gain muscle at the same time, then you should definitely drink green tea.

4) It May Improve Brain Function

Green tea has also been shown to improve brain function. Caffeine, a well-known stimulant, is the main active component. Green tea doesn’t have it as much as coffee does, but it’s enough to elicit a response without generating the jittery effects that come with too much caffeine. Caffeine impacts the brain by inhibiting adenosine, an inhibitory neurotransmitter. This enhances the neuronal activity and brain function of the person who drinks it. Because of this, green tea is good for cognitive function and preventing Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases.

5) It Reduces Stress Levels

Green tea has also been shown to reduce stress levels. It contains theanine, an amino acid that has a calming effect on the brain. Theanine causes the release of GABA, which is a neurotransmitter that helps to reduce stress and anxiety. So, if you’re feeling stressed out, then drinking some green tea may be just what you need. It is also beneficial for preventing stress-induced migraines.

6) It’s Good For Oral Health

Green tea is also good for oral health. Because it contains fluoride, green tea helps to protect teeth from cavities and bacteria. This is an important benefit since cavities and gum disease are two of the most common oral health problems. It is also suggested that green tea can reduce bad breath, but it hasn’t been proven.

7) It Can Prevent Type 2 Diabetes

In recent decades, the prevalence of type 2 diabetes has risen. Studies have shown that drinking green tea can help to prevent type 2 diabetes. A study found that people who drank 3 or more cups of green tea per day were less likely to develop type 2 diabetes, compared to those who only drank one cup per month. This is because green tea contains catechins, which are antioxidants known for their anti-inflammatory properties. Of course, it isn’t a guarantee that drinking green tea will prevent type 2 diabetes, but it’s definitely a good thing to add to your diet if you want to reduce your risk.

8) It May Help Prevent Cardiovascular Diseases

Green tea can also help to prevent cardiovascular diseases like atherosclerosis, which is when plaque builds up in the arteries and causes them to harden. Studies have shown that drinking green tea regularly can reduce cholesterol levels, lower blood pressure, prevent clots from forming, and improve overall heart health. Green tea has also been shown to increase HDL cholesterol, which is a good kind. So, if you’re looking for a way to protect your heart, then drinking green tea is a good place to start.

9) It’s Good For Skin Health

One last benefit we’re going to mention here is that green tea can also be beneficial for skin health. We already mentioned that catechins are antioxidants that help to fight against the free radicals that can cause skin damage. But that’s not all. Green tea also contains caffeine, which can help to reduce the appearance of cellulite. It can also help to reduce inflammation and redness, and it may even help to prevent skin cancer. Overall, green tea can help you to protect and maintain healthy skin.

Green tea, such as the ones found at Seven Teas, have been shown to have a number of benefits, from promoting weight loss and muscle building to combating stress. Also, green tea can improve brain function, prevent cardiovascular diseases and type 2 diabetes, and improve oral health. In this blog post, we’ve highlighted the main health benefits of drinking green tea. If you’re looking for a way to improve your general wellness, then it may be time for you to start adding more green tea (matcha tea as well) into your diet! Hopefully, you now have a good understanding of all the amazing health benefits that green tea has to offer.

You are absolutely right, green tea before bed always has a calming effect on me. I found a programmable tea maker in Bru.shop and now I have the opportunity to enjoy a drink of much better quality
