Your First Drink of the Day
As soon as you get up, the first thing you should do is reach for a glass of water. This should be your first eight-ounce serving of water and it should be consumed before you even think about breakfast. The supply of oxygen delivered to your cells has been depleted through the night. That first drink of water will replenish your cells and hydrate your body. After doing this for just one week, you’ll begin to feel more energetic throughout each day.
Don’t Skip Breakfast
Most people think they don’t have time for breakfast, assuming it has to be a big meal, but this isn’t the case. In fact, you can grab a few pieces of fruit or an individually wrapped raw honeycomb to munch on as you head to work. Bring extra fruits, seeds, or nuts to snack on throughout your day as well. This can help you supply your body with the energy it needs to keep you productive.
Divide Exercise Up into Short Bursts
Everyone needs to get a minimum of 30 minutes of moderate to high-intensity physical activity each day. That might seem impossible if you’re trying to balance a career, parenting, and other obligations every day, but it can be done. If you can’t find a full half hour for exercise in your daily routine, it’s okay to divide that time up. Talk a walk or jog up and down the stairs every 30 minutes, while you’re at work. If you have a job in which you spend most of the day sitting, this is especially important to help reduce the risk of developing blood clots in the legs.
Soup is a Healthy and Fast Meal
It’s time to get rid of those frozen dinners, now that we realize they’re not really healthy meals. Instead, turn to canned soup. There is enough variety of soup on the market to provide you with the different tastes to entice your appetite, and each soup is packed with a host of vitamins and nutrients. For instance, soup that contains oatmeal, lentils, or lean meats can provide you with a nice boost of iron. By increasing your iron intake, you’ll chase away depression and fatigue.
Get a Gym Membership
This is a nice tip for people who feel their lifestyle is too busy for exercise. When we pay for something, we’re far less likely to let it go unused, so just subscribing to a gym membership will motivate you to use the facility. You’ll find yourself stopping by after work for just a 15 or 20-minute workout just to get some use out of the membership. Even a short daily workout is better than no workout at all.
Walk Whenever Possible
It’s time to start acting more consciously about how you run errands and how you work. You can start by choosing the parking space that’s farthest from the entrance because this walk can help you get some exercise into each day. Similarly, walking to take care of errands can help you increase the amount of exercise each day. As you go about your routine, look for more things you can do on foot rather than driving your car.
If you really want to live healthier, you should be able to find small ways to improve your lifestyle. Regardless of how busy you are, making healthier choices is just a matter of recognizing and implementing the changes you need to make. These tips can help you implement a lifestyle that will help you live healthier, happier, and longer.
