5 Most Unexpected Ways to Stimulate Hair Growth

hair with soft waterHair loss used to be one of the many signs of old age. But these days, about 20% of those under the age of 20 have experienced hair loss to some degree.

No matter how old you are, it can be frustrating when you notice that your hair isn’t growing like it used to. You should attempt to reverse the trend by using different techniques to stimulate hair growth.

Check out five of the most unexpected ways you might be able to stimulate hair growth below.

1. Schedule Regular Scalp Massages

Scalp massages are great when it comes to eliminating stress. They also might be effective if you’re trying to stimulate hair growth right now.

These massages will get the blood circulating throughout your head. This can kickstart hair growth and improve hair quality in some people and help them to grow more hair than they would otherwise.

2. Replace Your Conditioner With Peanut Butter

When we say peanut butter, the first thing that probably comes to your mind is “jelly.” But you should also think “hair growth” when you hear the words peanut butter.

There are lots of people who swear by using good old peanut butter when they’re trying to get their hair to grow, and there might be something to it. Peanut butter is loaded with vitamin E, which is known to help stimulate hair growth and make hair stronger.

3. Rinse Your Hair With Onions

A word to the wise: This hair growth method is not for the faint of heart. Your entire house is going to smell bad when you use it.

But if you don’t mind sacrificing your sense of smell for a full head of hair, it’s been shown to work for many people.

Start by chopping up four white onions and boiling them in a liter of water. Strain the water once the onions have boiled for several minutes and use them to rinse your hair after you’ve shampooed it.

The onions have sulfur in them (which accounts for the horrible smell!) that can get your blood flowing and help your body produce the collagen it needs to grow hair.

4. Experiment With Horsetail Extract

Despite what you might think after seeing its name, horsetail extract does not come from horses. It’s an ancient plant that has been used to treat everything from kidney stones to muscle pain over the years.

You can also try using horsetail extract for hair growth. It has earned a reputation for helping to bring thinning hair back to life.

5. Give Yeast Infection Cream a Try

Does the idea of rubbing yeast infection cream on your scalp send shivers up and down your spine? It might, but you won’t be so freaked out when you see how well it works.

When used properly, it can make your hair grow like never before.

Will One of These Techniques Help You Stimulate Hair Growth?

Most of the people who want to get their hair to grow have tried all kinds of crazy things in the past. So, what’s one (or five!) more?

Take these techniques out for a test drive to see if they stimulate hair growth for you. You might be amazed by the results you can get from a jar of peanut butter or a tube of yeast infection cream. Additionally, you may want to reduce your alcohol intake as hair loss alcohol related instances may increase your chances.
