Planning a Healthy Corporate Event in Houston Is Easier Than You Think

However, you are wondering how well this will go over with a large group of people who are used to wining and dining in between seminars and showcases. Actually, planning and executing a healthy corporate event is much easier than you think, and you don’t even need to do away with the refreshments! You might need to make a few ‘slight’ alterations in the food and beverage menus, but even that can be fun with a bit of creativity. This is how you do it.

Book an Entertaining Keynote Speaker

If you’ve ever planned a corporate event before you know that the keynote speaker sets the tone for the entire event. Although healthy living at home and at work is the theme, what you are really hoping to accomplish is a boost in productivity. There is no question about the fact that a person’s general state of health has a huge impact on their performance and so with this in mind, choose your speaker carefully. Whether you go with an entrepreneur who is well-versed in mindfulness or a fitness guru with a history of establishing corporate fitness programs, make sure you book a speaker with personality. This is going to set the tone for everything that follows.

An Odd Twist to Dinner

You will obviously plan a menu with offerings that are considered to be heart healthy. That doesn’t mean they have to be boring! It’s all about the spices and ingredients and a really good chef can make the healthiest meal taste sinfully delicious. There is also nothing wrong with serving a glass of red wine with dinner but soft drinks should not include soda. Try serving a variety of tropical fruit drinks that are low in refined sugar but high in vitamins.

Now the Fun Begins

After dinner, there is traditionally a live band with dancing and after-dinner drinks. Here again, a little bit of alcohol isn’t going to ruin your healthy theme, but perhaps you might limit the number of ‘drinks on the house’ to two per attendee. When the dancing begins, you might want to have a choreographer there to get everyone involved in a dance planned for its cardio effects but still more of a dance than a workout. These are just ideas you can start with but remember that the idea is to make health and fitness fun while also bringing awareness into the workplace and productivity.
