Mother’s Day is near and for those who haven’t figured out what to do to spoil mom on her special day, here’s a great list of fun things to do with mom. Plus, if you’re looking for a special gift, here’s a Mother’s Day gift guide of wonderful things all the mom’s on your list will love. However, if you’re in the mood to take mom somewhere really special, be sure to check out Baker’s Cay Resort in Key Largo Florida.
Recently I was back east visiting my mom and thought hey, why don’t we take a little road trip. Being that Key Largo is under 2 hours away, I figured we could get the taste of the Caribbean for a few days without having to fly. And the best place to find that vibe is at Baker’s Cay Resort,Curio Collection by Hilton!
For those looking for adventure outside of the resort, you’ll be within 2 miles of Bluefin Rock Harbor Marina as well as 6 miles from John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park and Mariners Hospital. Boating, snorkeling and some of the best scuba diving in the world are just a stone’s throw away!
The accommodations are terrific what with free wifi, pillowtop beds and premium bedding, as well as LCD TVs with satellite channels. Balconies, iPod docks, and sitting areas are also available for an even more cozy stay. With modern, bright rooms as well as suites and adjoining rooms, there’s something for everyone.
Ok, let’s chat dining! Calusa serves Creole-Caribbean cuisine with panoramic Florida Bay views on the second floor of the resort. Their hideaway cove bar, Dry Rocks, serves Mexican inspired beachside dishes accompanied by live music. Plus, guests can enjoy delicious drinks at the Pool Bar and Tiki Bar.
There’s so much to do, as well as not do, at Baker’s Cay. Take a stroll through the mangrove path, have a tasty drink by the pool, take a dip in the ocean, get a massage and take in the sunset at dinner.
We had a blast and so will you!
