How to Keep an Active Lifestyle As You Work From Home

Signs You Need to Start Replacing Your ActivewearWith more people than ever working from home right now, maintaining an active lifestyle for good health is getting more important. While it’s easy to remain stagnant as you sit in one room throughout your work day, there are several ways you can get moving.

If you’re wondering how you can stay active as you continue your work-at-home journey this fall, here are five ways you can kick start your healthier lifestyle.

Walk While Taking Conference Calls

Conference calls have become the order of the day, so you can make the most of them by walking around whenever you have one. Since you would have been sitting down doing nothing, walk around your room or even move through the house if possible to get the extra benefit of staying awake throughout the call! With the workstation for an individual having shrunk to just 39 square feet this year from 80 square feet in 1992, this shows there’s less room in more offices allocated to individuals. Make good use of the extra space you have in your house by walking around more during the workday.

Perform Desk Exercises

If you have a schedule that keeps you stuck at the desk for hours at a stretch, you can set aside a few minutes every two or so hours to perform exercises while seated. Turn your phone to silent and power down your screen to avoid distractions; then, perform a combination of shoulder rolls, calf raises, head turns and tilts, arm wraps and swings, leg lifts and swings, and torso swings. Get inspiration online and get moving at your desk!

Develop a Healthy Routine

While you have more time at home, you may fall victim to poor routines that leave you feeling tired and unproductive from morning to night. A whopping 95% of people in the United States live within just one hour’s drive of a body of water that’s navigable. If you’re one of these people, you could have a routine in place that involves going to the water to take a break and soak in the sun. This will be great not only for your physical health but for your mental health, too.

Keep Fitness Equipment Closeby

Another great tip to stay fit and healthy while working from home is to set up exercise equipment close to your workstation. When this equipment stays in your sight, you will be more inspired to get up and work out every so often. This will be a good thing because, if your gym is currently closed, you will get a good workout right from the comfort of your house. The best part is that you can plan your fitness routine at any time that’s convenient, depending on your work schedule. You don’t have to follow the hours put in place by a gym, enabling you to get fit at any time you choose easily and efficiently.

Install Workout Apps

Since you’re probably spending a lot of time on your phone and laptop anyway, it’s a good idea to install any of a number of fitness applications. These can be for anything you like, from yoga to cardio and even dances that can be done anywhere, often with minimal equipment necessary. The plus is that you can set the app to send you a reminder on a regular schedule, making sure you never forget to do your daily lunges and stretches or whatever you choose. You could also install a sleep-aid app to help you keep naps you may have under 30 minutes, which will boost your alertness and reduce the grogginess often associated with midday naps.

You have a lot at your disposal in the pursuit of a healthy and fit life if you’re currently working from home. Make the most of it so you can enjoy the benefits of not having to commute to the office on a daily basis.

Perhaps start first with a part-time job https://2captcha.com/ and then, if it turns out, consider this option as your main job. I did this at the time, so I can only recommend a good and proven office
