home exteriorAccording to research, the sales for antiques and collectibles online saw a 5.3% increase from 2015 to 2020. And this shows how people crave pieces of history. Are you looking to add some vintage touches to your home? Below are a few tips on how to do it perfectly.

Hang some paintings

Paintings embody a lot of character and have a way of drawing admirers in, especially the real ones. To give your home a vintage feel, you can make use of paintings of all sizes. Find real paintings if possible, and place them at vantage points in your home, such as your hallway and living area. That way, your guests will get to share in the experience. And if you prefer more modern pieces of painting, you can go ahead and choose one with a bit of a human feel to it. It will give your home that similar added effect.

Go for pieces made from quality organic materials.

Incorporate more organic materials in your home as they give off the type of vintage feel you may be looking out for as compared to synthetic materials. Organic materials such as wood, metals, high-quality wool, and linen have been used and patronized throughout past centuries, and so you can never go wrong with them. You can incorporate any of these slowly by making some gradual replacements or adding some statement pieces to different areas of your home. It could be a change or addition to your furniture, drapes, rugs, or even your flower pots. You could opt for parquet flooring, for example, for its mid-century patterns.

Pieces made out of organic materials draw in a lot of attention individually, so don’t feel pressured to change everything you already have. Even one good statement piece can transform the entire look of your room.

Try buying with multiple eras in mind

When you visit an antique shop, make it a point to find out the various eras pieces belonged to and consciously make a mix for your decor. Antiques from different eras come together really well and effortlessly take you back into time. You can also use big plants to account for time based on their growth. Aside from the freshness and life, they will bring to your home, big plants will give off the message that things have been around for some time and give a vintage and luxurious feel.

Getting wallpaper is a very economical and simple way of bringing vintage into your home. It is because some wallpapers have antique-inspired colors and patterns that portray time very well. And the cool part is they are easy to maintain, and you can switch up looks as and when you please.

Old looks and pieces carry some warmth and beauty that are timeless and cannot be denied. That is why people continue to visit various museums and historical destinations to share in this beauty. You may not be able to time-travel, but the above tips should help you get a taste of this historic beauty whenever you step into your home or some parts of your home.

In fact, there are many little things that can make your home feel more vintage and stylish. For example, you can use luxury home accessories to achieve this effect. I used something similar for a guest room and it worked great

Analyze the advantages and disadvantages of the house and the surrounding area. Most buyers make a decision to buy or not based on the shortcomings of the house, you can read more about this in the Matthew Fleeger Dallas story. So think about what shortcomings you can eliminate, and what you can not influence
