Keep Your Home SafeWhen it comes to reinforcing the security of your entry points, windows are no exception. One should understand that after the front/entry door, windows are the second most popular opportunity among intruders to attempt break-ins. Therefore, reinforcement of front doors is crucial but, burglar-proofing your windows is of no less importance.

Now the concern is if putting security bars in front of your windows is the only way to secure them? A big no. Considering the variable interests of homeowners, experts have given us a bunch of ideas to protect our windows from becoming a potential risk.

Let’s check out the list of other solutions you can opt for.

Good-quality Lock Is The Basic

The amount of time and energy you invest in finding a reliable lock for your doors should also be given to window locks. It may seem a no-brainer to you now, but people sometimes forget to get robust locks for windows. Window locks are essential to intact your security whether you’re at home or not. Pin lock, key lock, sash jammer, and many more options are available to choose from.

Window Security Film To Prevent Glass From Smashing

Though it’s very uncommon for burglars to break the windowpane/glass to enter your home, sometimes they do it. Therefore, you should be prepared for the worst or unexpected things to happen. When reinforced with a security film, a window glass becomes too difficult for burglars to break the glass. A good-quality security film doesn’t let the glass shatter even after several attempts.

Laminated Glass Reinforcement

If you’re not on a budget, this can be a perfect solution to address all your window safety concerns. It is made from mixed layers of vinyl and glass and is quite more durable than ordinary window glass. It is tough and resistant enough that a fully determined burglar would even give up after a few minutes. However, as we said, it wouldn’t be on your list if you had a small security budget.

Window Alarms Are Good Deterrents

Installing a window alarm on each of your windows, especially the ones on the first floor, can deter burglars in the majority of cases. Window alarms are also the cheapest way to prevent crooks from getting into your house through windows. They also alert you if a wrong person is trying to open your window.

Don’t Forget Motion Sensor Lights.

Motion sensor lights are way too common to prevent the risk of nighttime burglary. Though some stats say that burglars have been seen to be more active in the daytime, it doesn’t mean that you can go without a security system to work during the night. Motion sensor lights installed both on the outdoor and above the first-floor windows are much more effective in preventing burglars from entering your place. Even if you are not at home, these lights won’t let the crooks break into your house.

Plant Thorny Bushes Under Windows

These thorny bushes won’t let your windows remain an easy point to enter anymore. Therefore, thorny bushes or plants are considered a cheap, effective, and eco-friendly method of a deterrent for burglars. However, don’t forget to keep them short; big bushes can turn into a perfect hiding place for burglars.

Final Thoughts

The ideas that we have tried to share here are not the only options you can pick. You can do many more things to reinforce your windows’ security. Depending upon your budget and requirements, the solution you can opt for will vary. Remember that it is necessary to improve the security of your windows despite having a robust security system installed for entry doors and home. Want to learn more about your home security? Steel doors are renowned for their durability and strength. When incorporated into your home, they serve as a robust barrier, enhancing security. Whether for the front entrance, patio, or interior spaces, steel doors provide a sense of safety and peace of mind.
Beyond their utilitarian purpose, steel doors bring a touch of architectural elegance. In fact, home security is a very important factor to consider. When I first drove into the house, I immediately installed smart home security systems, and also hired a Smyrna locksmith who changed the locks on the doors

Thanks for sharing, this is a good way to protect. But in order to install an alarm system at home, you should contact the experts. I can recommend a good Toronto locksmith who will help you with ease and your home will be safe

I think new technology for smart security or protecting your home is a great idea. Although I had a bad experience with similar items. After two months since I installed smart locks, I was already looking for a locksmith in Toronto to install an old lock for me, because these technologies constantly ruined my life
