produce deliveryAnyone that has tasted fresh grown produce right from the source can tell you that it is worth the time and effort to produce and use during peak of the season. Farm-to-Fork food is all about sourcing organic and locally grown food and making use of the amazingly fresh and versatile flavors they can provide for the masses. Now more than ever, farmers are making an effort to get the freshest food out to the country and provide ways that it may be accessed by companies and individuals.

Catering in the Fresh from Farm Style

Many catering companies will make it a point to try and buy only local products and ensure that their clients get only fresh ingredients into an event planned with them. They are capable of getting a large amount of fresh ingredients on hand and taking them to the next level from office party meals all the way to weddings and other prestigious events. Local catering options are the way to go for freshest food being prepared using the sources available nearby. This way companies catering Los Angeles events, for example, can provide diners the freshest possible of Northern California’s harvest.

Delivery Options are Increasing Nationwide

Many farms are getting their fresh produce out by partnering with other growers and their local groups to deliver goods in many ways. Families can opt to purchase crates of fruits and veggies which contain what their local food growers are producing during the season at the peak of freshness. This allows for a variety of food to be distributed on a weekly or biweekly basis and keeping the selection fresh with each shipment. Many of these groups are beginning to ship these produce options further away to neighboring cities and even across state borders.

Online Produce and Food Box Delivery

Many services are now making it possible to send deconstructed ready-to-cook meals straight to the customer’s door. These are boxes of food with the amount of ingredients needed to make the dishes and they provide instructions for those receiving the boxes to prepare. They generally include an array of fresh produce and are fresh packed and sent via expedited shipping. Perhaps, packed with dry ice to keep them cold. These boxes can contain a week’s worth of food portioned out for individuals, a family or other configurations. Many of these box plans will ship nationwide and make it possible for those who have limited access to fresh crops to get a taste of the farm freshness they desire.

Expansion of Fresh Local to Fresh Global

Although options such as locally grown foods are diverse, they may not have everything needed nearby to create some of the global dishes that are enjoyed by foodies. Offering the fresh exotic food options will mean these foods will need to be grown closer to home. Fortunately, a large number of exotic plants can be produced markets that can be considered locally sourced with the use of greenhouses. Imagine using fresh ingredients in your favorite Mediterranean dish while in Duluth… in mid-February.

Getting fresh food from locally sourced farms is an ever expanding network of growers striving to get their foods to the people!
