From sexy and sophisticated to classic and chic, there are numerous fashion styles we can subscribe to, but have you ever wondered what category your own preferences fall into? To find out, here is a list of the most popular and prominent looks among women.

In addition to these fashion styles are some prevailing and perennial tips on how to always look your best and feel fabulous at the same time.

Popular fashion styles

  • Classic – You can’t really go wrong with the classic look, which favors well-fitting garments, subtle shades and elegant design. Think white button-down blouses accompanied by slim jeans or wide-legged trousers.
  • Glamorous – Usually reserved for special occasions, not many women can pull off glamorous garments on a daily basis. However, if you simply cannot live without dazzling diamond earrings and flowing satin dresses, this is most definitely your fashion style.
  • Sophisticated – Although the sophisticated look is typically found at work and not in social situations, you can still wear blazers and skirts on a night out if you accessorize correctly.
  • Flamboyant – You need to be brave to pull of the flamboyant look, but you can rest assured that nobody else will be wearing the same outfit. Multi-coloured garments and outlandish prints are as ostentatious as it gets.
  • Bohemian – Exotic textures and arty patterns are the order of the day with this style. Seeing as accessory options include things like headscarves and handmade jewellery, the possibilities with being a hippy chick are endless.
  • Rocker – This style is all about rebellion. So, if your wardrobe contains ripped denim jeans, vintage tops, plaid flannel shirts and a leather jacket or two, you’re most definitely a rocker.

Prevailing fashion tips

  • Dress according to the weather – In addition to increasing your chances of catching a cold, wearing next to nothing during winter doesn’t exude sophistication.
  • Invest in a good watch – Primarily used to tell the time, a dapper and dashing watch can be the difference between looking good and looking great. Ladies designer watches are available in a variety of designs to suit your own unique style too.
  • If in doubt, go monochrome – When you can’t make up your mind on what to wear and are having a bit of a fashion crisis, simply pair up a classic white shirt with some smart black trousers. It works every time.
  • Don’t forget to accessorize – From belts and broaches to sunglasses and shoes, remember that the smallest details can make the biggest difference.
  • Always have an LBD in your wardrobe – There is a reason why the little black dress is held in such high esteem by fashionistas;  it never fails to disappoint. Regardless of whether it’s a strapless or backless number, an LBD is your fashion BFF.

No matter what style suits you the most, it is a good idea to always buy clothes that fit well and look great. Don’t be tempted to panic buy in order to fit in with the current trends. Instead, always bear these enduring pieces of advice in mind and with any luck, you’ll never go out of style.
