The Different Ways You Can Take Turmeric

If you have recently become aware of the various health benefits of consuming turmeric on a regular basis, you may be wondering how you can incorporate it into your diet. It is a highly flexible ingredient and can be consumed in both solid and liquid form with the decision you make largely down to personal preference and your existing dietary habits. To familiarise yourself with the different ways you can take turmeric, continue reading to find out everything you need to know. 

Make turmeric tea

If you enjoy winding down at the end of the day with a calming and warming drink, turmeric tea can be a great way to feel great on the outside as well as the inside as you prepare to put your head down for the night. It can be a simple way to ensure you are incorporating a consistent amount of turmeric in your diet on a regular basis without even noticing it which can even prevent the early warning signs of a cold from materialising. It has even been found to ease muscle soreness caused by strenuous exercise. 

Sprinkle over vegetables 

If you are looking for a quick and easy way to spice up healthy eating, turmeric can be sprinkled over roasted vegetables for a spicy surprise with added health benefits. This can be a great way to experiment with different flavours and textures with 

Turmeric powder perfectly complements cauliflower, carrots, potatoes, and root vegetables, in particular. It can be added before or after cooking alone or alongside salt and pepper for a true flavour explosion. 

Add it to smoothies 

If you are a fan of smoothies, turmeric can be the missing ingredient you need to take your morning drinks to the next level. If you struggle to maintain a nutrient-rich diet throughout the day, it can also be a great way to ensure your daily diet is rich in nutrients from the get-go and by adding as much or as little as you want, you can experiment until you are happy with the colour, consistency, and taste. To provide an extra burst of energy and goodness, add turmeric to a smoothie already jam-packed with leafy greens, healthy fats, mineral salt, and water.

Include in hearty soups

If you love nothing more than making a batch of warming soup on a cold day, turmeric can inject a sense of flavour as well as nutrients as a result of its anti-inflammatory nature. This is one of the main reasons why it has been heralded as something of a miracle treatment for a number of bowel conditions such as colitis and irritable bowel syndrome. In a hearty soup alongside plenty of vegetables, such as pumpkin and sweet potato, it can be a great addition that you will wish you had tried sooner. 

If you are interested in taking turmeric but just don’t know how, it may benefit you to familiarise yourself with the different ways in which it can be consumed. It can, for example, be made into turmeric tea, sprinkled over vegetables, added to smoothies, and included in hearty soups.
