CBD oil, distilled from the cannabis plant, is an active substance that can help you tackle numerous health problems. In this article we will tell you what you need to know about cannabis oil. We will dive into what it is and how it is produced and then move onto how it can be consumed by users.

What is cannabis oil?

Let’s start off with looking at the difference between cannabis and the use of CBD oil. When you smoke cannabis, you also inhale the active substance THC. This is the substance that makes you ‘stoned’ and provides you with side-effects that are often undesired. While THC is providing psychoactive effects, there are substances in cannabis that do help. For example, cannabis can elevate pain or help you fall asleep.

Although the use of cannabis can help you with health problems, it does come with consequences. The psychoactive effect makes it undesired for daily use. This brings us to the essence of what you need to know about cannabis oil. The oil has the same substances that help you in your treatment, while they do not provide the psychoactive effects that THC brings. We can conclude that cannabis oil is a helpful product for daily use.

How is cannabis oil produced?

The CBD can be extracted from the cannabis plant via two different means. First, there is the option of using chemicals. This does not leave the oil ‘clean’ as the chemicals are also present in very low amounts. However, this does affect the quality of the CBD oil and is often present in the lower quality products. If you want to have higher quality, you need to consider CO2 extraction. This method is using CO2 to extract the active components, without adding any additional elements. This leaves you with pure CBD oil of high quality.

How to consume CBD?

What you need to know about cannabis oil does not stop here. How can you consume the CBD oil daily? There are various options whereof the use of shakes and food are most common. The only difficulty is that it is hard to dose. Best is to dose it before you add it to your food or salad. Another attractive option is the use of the oil in baking brownies, cupcakes or cakes. This makes it easier to dose, as you can see how much goes into a single piece. 

Cannabis oil in the form of capsules

You can also consume cannabis in the form of capsules. These can be used in combination with water or can be added to your food.
