By occasionally following healthy rituals, we consider ourselves health gurus, but in reality, we are not doing a fair job. All those people who desire to prolong their lives, they should make healthy activities as a permanent part of themselves. According to a study by the Archives of Internal Medicine, only 3% of American adults fit on the essential criteria of a healthy lifestyle. The study based on four health factors, including smoking, average weight eating habits, and physical activities. Only 13.8% of the participants followed three factors. The statistics built on data proved that women follow a better Lifestyle than men.

1. Change eating habits

A healthy body requires more than 50 nutrients, but unfortunately, a single food cannot supply all of them. Therefore, it is essential to take a balanced diet. For example, if you are making a high-fat breakfast, then your lunch and dinner should have low-fat quantity. If you are bringing meat in a meal, then the next meals should consist of vegetables and lentils.

If you study human health-related courses, then it will be easier for you to adopt healthy habits. Or you want to make your career in public health services to help others; then mph online is best to offer you a better understanding of the human body and physical health.

In case you desire to prolong your life, then healthy eating should be a part of your everyday life. When we talk about macronutrients, it mainly consists of carbohydrates, protein, and fats. Excessive and unhealthy fats can cause cardiovascular diseases. Fish and nuts are a good source of healthy fats. Fruits and vegetables are the best sources of micronutrients, like minerals, fiber, and vitamins. An adult should at least have five servings of them every day. For example, you can have a glass of juice in breakfast, salad with every meal, and fruits as a snack. 

Every food has its significance, but it does not justify overeating. You should eat in control portions. You can also reduce your salt intake because excessive salt intake is among the risk factors of high blood pressure and cardiovascular diseases.

2. Time to wear sports shoes

Bodyweight should be according to BMI since obesity can cause many diseases like cancer, diabetes, hypertension, and heart diseases. You can reduce your body weight by controlling your eating habits or by exercising. Physical activity is imperative for the proper functioning of body and mind. Exercise helps in burning calories, reduces weight, and improves heart health, secure mental health, and increases muscle mass. You can start your exercise regime by 30 minutes’ walk, five times a week, and gradually, level up your fitness goals. There are 22% chances to lower the risk of early death if people follow the basic workout routine. 

There are many exercises like yoga and meditation, which help in relaxing your body and mind, reduces stress, and anxiety.

3. Drink plenty of fluids

A healthy adult should drink 8 to 12 glasses of water every day. If its summer or you are physically active, then you should drink more. If you do not admire plain tap water, then you can also have flavored water, fresh juices, milk, green tea, and other fluids. However, you should avoid taking fluid that consists of artificial sweetening agents and sugar. You can also take green tea that helps in decreasing the risk of diabetes, cancer, and heart diseases. Polyphenols and catechins are among the main constituents of green tea, which fights against harmful free radicals in our body.

Other than green tea, you can also drink coffee to reduce the risk of Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, heart disease, type 2 diabetes mellitus, and cancer. However, we all know that excessive caffeine can cause insomnia and anxiety.

Therefore, you should not take it more than 400 mg per day, which means your coffee intake should not exceed 2-3 cups a day.

4. Quit smoking and drinking

Smoking and drinking have been linked with several diseases and early death. If you quit smoking before 35 years, you can prolong your life for about 8 to 10 years. On the other hand, alcohol consumption connected with the intoxication of the pancreas, liver, and heart. However, if you are taking alcohol in a moderate amount, then you can decrease your risk of premature death. Some forms of alcohol like wine, also have a beneficial effect on the human body because they are rich in polyphenols. Wine has a protective effect against neurological diseases, heart diseases, metabolic dysfunction, and diabetes.

5. Stay Happy 

The last and most significant thing is to stay happy. If you spend a happy and prosperous life, you have 4% fewer chances of early death. Anger, depression, grief, stress, and anxiety gives birth to several diseases. If you protect yourself from them, you can spend a more healthy life. To keep yourself happy, make your social circle secure. Surround yourself by people with positive energy. You can also take a break from your work to spend some quality time exploring yourself and improving your relations.
