Understanding the Use of CBD

cbd oilThe market for CBD products is still predominantly in its infancy. As such, there is still a great deal of confusion about the product and its benefits. Having just been legalized after passing of the 2018 U.S. Farm Bill, otherwise known as the Agricultural Improvement Act of 2018, numerous forms of CBD have exploded onto the market.

Those who’ve never heard of CBD often associate the chemical compound with that of its psychoactive cousin, THC, which is produced by the marijuana plant. THC is responsible for getting its users high and creating a state of euphoria for which people commonly associate marijuana.

CBD is not generally considered psychoactive and does not get its users high. Though, as with marijuana, several forms of CBD are available to the public, such as CBD oil, flower, and several other types.

CBD Versus Hemp oil

Many reports abound that CBD is solely derived from hemp. However, this is not entirely accurate. Hemp and marijuana both produce CBD, though the CBD derived from hemp is much less potent and generally contains less than 0.3 percent THC.

In the United States, under the language of the 2018 U.S.Farm Bill, only CBD derived from hemp is legal nationwide, though full spectrum CBD products that contain higher volumes of THC are available. These full spectrum products are only permitted in states where medicinal and recreational marijuana are allowed.

Many people also think that hemp oil and the oil made from CBD are the same. This fact is not an accurate one. While both oils are derived from hemp, CBD oil is made almost entirely from the flowering tops (buds) of the hemp plant.

Hemp oil is derived from the seed of the hemp plant and correspondingly contains no Cannabinoids at all.

Effects and Benefits of CBD

CBD generally treats specific ailments or conditions that affect its users. Some of these conditions include stress, anxiety, inflammation, nausea, pain, and insomnia.

Though CBD also treats other conditions, the above are the most common ailments that it cures.

Most users describe CBD as having a passive, calming effect. They also describe it as bringing a sense of peace and balance to their daily lives. It reduces inflammation and aids in focus as well as allows its users to sleep better at night.

Though studies are still in their infant stages regarding the research, effects, and benefits of CBD use, CBD users are primarily in agreement that the chemical is beneficial and has dramatically enhanced their quality of life altogether.

CBD use is also quite popular among the younger generation, as these individuals are more inclined to both support and promote the legalization and use of CBD and THC on a national level.

Considering CBD Use

As with any drug or chemical, it is best to know the benefits and risks associated with taking them. CBD use hasn’t yet been linked to any adverse side-effects, though, as previously mentioned, research is still in its infancy.

When using CBD as a first time user, it is best to begin with a low dose and work up to a higher dose, or until the desired effects are evident. Many users start with less than 3 milligrams per dose, whether using edibles or any other form.

If concerned with dosage, ask your CBD supplier for more information about CBD products.
