best home exercisesMany of us struggle to find the time to exercise. We work busy jobs, have kids and families at home, and don’t have the time or motivation to go to the gym. But, exercise is so important. It helps you to maintain a healthy weight, reduces your risks of conditions such as diabetes and heart disease, helps to look after your mental health and lower your stress levels, and can make you feel more confident and happier. So, if you can’t make the time to get out and exercise, the best thing to do is find workout routines you can do at home. Here are some of the best.

Spinning

Anyone with an exercise bike can recreate a spinning class at home. However, it’s difficult to motivate and push yourself without an instructor telling you what to do. That’s why a SSoD spin class from Studio SWEAT onDemand is perfect. Watching on demand videos while you exercise means that you get full instruction and guidance without leaving your house. Spinning is an incredibly effective exercise as it really pushes your body to the max. Even a 30-minute session can leave your legs aching for days.

Yoga

Yoga is a form of exercise that is great for your mind as well as your body. Doing a little yoga each day can help tone and strengthen your muscles while also helping you to relax and unwind. Some people like to do a few yoga stretches first thing in the morning to stretch out their limbs and boost their circulation ready for the day and then a longer session in the evening to help them unwind and get a great night’s sleep. Yoga has enormous benefits and all you need is a mat and some guidance to get started.

Pilates

Pilates is basically a series of small repeating movements using your own body as resistance. Pilates focuses on strengthening and toning your core muscles with strengthening your body. Like yoga, all you need to get started is a mat.

Dancing

Dancing is fantastic exercise. It works your whole body and you can have great fun doing it. There are some wonderful dance videos and workouts available online. Or, if you don’t fancy these, just dancing around the house with the kids or while you are doing the housework will help improve your fitness, boost your circulation, tone your muscles, and burn extra calories. As with anything else, the more you move the more it works, so put on some upbeat tracks and shake your stuff.

Step

Step Aerobics is a brilliant home exercise because you can do it while you watch TV. Step boards are cheaply available and you don’t need anything else. Spend half an hour stepping on and off the board while you watch your favorite show. Swing your arms and use wrist and ankle weights for an even more effective workout.

As well as these exercise plans, it’s important to try and remain active. Even getting out and going for a gentle walk every day can improve your health and fitness levels massively.
