Golf Tournament Benefitting Pancreatic Cancer Research

Kingsbury Open, Wings Of Hope team up to raise awareness, funding for pancreatic cancer research at the University of Colorado Cancer Center.

Washington Park Chiropractic is teaming up with Wings of Hope for Pancreatic Cancer Research to raise awareness and money for pancreatic cancer research by hosting the inaugural Kingsbury Golf Open. The Kingsbury Open will be held May 11 at the Golf Club at Bear Dance in Larkspur.

The event is founded and dedicated in memory of Thomas Kingsbury, father of Washington Park Chiropractic owner Dr. Lisa Goodman. Kingsbury was an avid golfer with a natural swing who was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in February 2007. He surrendered to riding in a cart instead of walking so that he could play his last round of golf in August of that same year. He passed away two weeks later.

“Every time we golf we think about my dad and know he is with us, from tee to green,” said Goodman. “Pancreatic cancer is the most underfunded, under-recognized and least studied of all deadly cancers. Our goal is to raise awareness for this disease and funding for the ongoing pancreatic cancer research being done at the University of Colorado Cancer Center, with the hope that one day, families no longer have to lose loved ones to pancreatic cancer.”

Registration to play in the Kingsbury Open includes 18 holes of golf, cart, range balls, casual dinner, two drink tickets, gift bag, and eligibility for awards. Online registration is open now.
