Avoid evil mirrors with these health tips
You know when you look in a mirror, only to find some pale imitation of you staring back? Whether it’s the fault of poor lighting, some dodgy hair product you tried or that your makeup is dreadful today, one thing’s for sure – you’re staring at an evil mirror.
But those menacing mirrors can be turned into your allies with the right kind of care and attention to your health.
With that in mind, what can you do to turn those evil mirrors benign?
Spare a care for your hair
With the wrong kind of follicles, it’s easy to believe you’ll never quite be L’Oreal worthy. But don’t worry the next time you hear some shimmering supermodel purr, “Because I’m worth it” – the perfect product for you could be just around the corner.
With Wen Hair Care, those nasty chemicals and stripping agents used in high street shampoos are gone, replaced with ingredients that are healthier for your hair. So the next time you look in the mirror, you won’t find the barnet of a Neanderthal staring back at you.
Go sober for October
This month, Macmillan Cancer Support are having their latest drive to raise funds – they’re persuading people to go sober for October and donate the cash saved to charity.
It’s an ace idea, and not only because of its charitable roots. In those tired hangover mornings, your skin will be dehydrated, causing spots and wrinkles to sprout like a zombie’s hand from the ground in a horror movie. As though it’s some kind of evil moustachioed villain, alcohol is pushing your health in the wrong direction.
Yet, give it up for a month and you’ll find yourself revitalised in both appearance and energy. And who knows – it might even lead you to stay on the wagon for good.
Get some light in your life
As those winter months come creeping, catching a few sunrays can be a difficult task. But unless you want to look vampiric, staying rich in sunlight is a must.
With its vitamin D boosting energy, a healthy dosage of sun will gain your skin a healthy glow. A lack of sunlight has even been known to cause depression and seasonal affective disorder (SAD).
In finding some sunlight in the winter months, you’re effectively boosting your health both physically and mentally.
So, how can you get those rays in the winter? Try an SAD machine, which will transmit UV rays directly onto your skin. Alternatively, book a holiday to a sunnier clime when the darker nights are calling. Just don’t take in too much sun – nobody wants to be burned at Christmas time!
