Pictured here is me in the center of St. George Square, located in the original capital of Bermuda for almost 200 years! Founded in 1609 after an unlucky but lucky shipwreck, all of the ships passengers made it onto the Bermuda shore and decided to settle it for Britain. I had the pleasure of taking the St. George walking tour that took me through the charming, old world streets of the once bustling capital. While I basked in the sun, I learned so much about the town and country and was super excited to be able to walk the streets of history. Did you know that St. George and Bermuda played a pivotal role in the US Civil War? Yeah, man! Cool!
If you happen to be hanging out in Elbow Beach, pop over to the Mandarin Oriental’s beachfront restaurant, Lido. A high end Italian restaurant that intermingles local seafood, many of the items are easily veganized such as the gren pea risotto and potato gnocchi along with the stuffed vine ripened tomato and roasted beet salad. Romantic, serene and lots of options for all sorts of special diets.
Looking for a quick pick me up? Pop over to Juice n Beans on Front Street in Hamilton! They’ve got great coffee with soy and almond milk options as well as fresh veggie and fruit juices. Yum! Plus, they have tofu scramble burritos for breakfast and a delicious Indian buffet for lunch. Be sure to check them out when shopping in Hamilton!
I was delighted to stumble upon the only fully veg restaurant on the island, Cafe Eden. Offering smoothies, sandwiches, salads and veggie dogs, it’s always fun to find comfort food when away from home. You can find them at 41 King St, Pembroke, Hamilton, Bermuda. 441-292-4111
I had to check out the nightlife scene while I was in town because you know a Colombian girl has to get her groove on no matter where in the world she might be. Me and my new travel writing buddy, Jeana from Surf and Sunshine, ventured into the capital of Hamilton to see what we would find. We hopped around but were intrigued by the Pickled Onion. To our surprise there was live music, a fun crowd, great drinks and yes, food! I devoured my avocado spring rolls and pomodoro pasta! By day, sit on the patio that sits above front street and overlooks the bay, by night, party inside with your pickled onion drink of choice!
There’s still more to come next week so be sure to check back!

Are you riding a moped around Bermuda? That’s the most fun part!
I never guessed there would be so many choices for vegans in Bermuda! A tofu scramble burrito would go down very easily right now… 🙂
