Traveling? 10 Reasons Why You Can’t Forget Your iPhone

iphone travelYour iPhone can be more than a life organizer. It can also serve as a travel companion, helping you make the connections you need to make to arrive at your final destination. Since this is a delicate electronic instrument, be sure to protect it from drops or abrasions with a great case whether you are traveling by air, rail, or car. The case you need is based on the model you’re carrying. If, for instance, you’re using an iPhone 5, you need an iPhone 5s case.

While you may be able to think of at least 4 ways off the top of your head how your iPhone can help you when you’re traveling on business or for a vacation, there are at least 10 ways it can make the whole trip easier and more fun.

1. You don’t need to remember to pack your bags with an alarm clock or hope your hotel provides you with an alarm clock or offers wake up calls. You iPhone alarm will be sure to help you get up on time. This may not matter much when you’re on vacation, but when you’re on a business trip, it might be essential for the success of your mission.

2. No holiday is complete without sending postcards about what a great time you’re having and sending the message that you wish your recipient was there to enjoy it, too. Before the iPhone, you would probably have to rush into a gift shop to grab a handful of postcards. However, with Postcards on the Run app, you can turn any pictures you have taken off your exotic locale into electronic postcards.

3. Running low on gas as you cruise into a new town you’ve never been before? Use your GasBuddy app to help locate a nearby service station. It can even help you find the most inexpensive gas in town.

4. While Apple software engineers have not yet figured how to program your iPhone to make you coffee, it can do the next best thing—it can point you in the right direction. If you’re sleepy and need a burst of energy to make a lively presentation before your next appointment, then turn on your free Starbucks app. It will give you a map to the nearest Starbucks. Since you may not be fully alert, it will also give you turn-by-turn directions right to the doorstep.

5. If you’ve just found a parking spot in a crowded city, you know how precious that spot is even if it has a meter. Unfortunately, with meters you constantly need to have enough change to feed it. Your Parkmobile app puts an end to this angst. Now, all you have to do is tap on the app to feed the meter. What’s more, when you have been away from the meter too long and have completely forgotten all about it, you will get a text alert that the meter is running low.

6. Where in the world is your plane? Is there a delay? Did you somehow miss the announcement? You don’t need to rush up to the giant electronic board to see arrivals and departures; instead, just turn on your FlightView Free app. It will track the status of your flight. Since it gives you accurate data about arrival and departure times for all your flights, you can update anyone waiting to pick you up at your destination about delays.

7. If you’re traveling with your kids, then the question about “when can we eat?” comes with a certain sense of urgency. In the past, you would have to offer some evasive answers to squelch a possible temper tantrum. But with your iPhone, you can find cheap family meals before you get to your destination. Like the Starbucks app, the Kids Meal Deal app will give you directions. It can even tell you about family-style restaurants that offer “kids eat free” meal deals. And if you’re not with your children but still want to find a really good place to eat, then the TripAdvisor app will help you out. Instead of just stumbling into any restaurant you see as you drive through a new town, you can get tipped off to the restaurants that have received the most positive reviews. This can be especially useful if you are in a foreign country and can’t even read the signs or menus.

8. After you get the bill in a restaurant, you might be baffled how much it cost because you are in a different country with a different currency. Using the XE Currency app you can do a quick, real-time conversion at the current exchange rates.

9. Believe it or not, the iPhone has even got you covered when it comes to potty breaks. When your kids stop asking “are we there yet” and start asking for the bathroom instead, then you can forestall panic by using the SitOrSquat app to locate the nearest public restrooms.

10. Your phone can help you plan your activities when you have no idea where to go. The Viator Tours & Activities app will help you find the best attractions, give you a map on how to get there, and even facilitate buying an admissions ticket before you arrive.

Many people have trouble following someone’s iPhone if they want to find out where they are, for example. However, it turned out to be easier than expected, and anyone can benefit from these suggestions. For instance, here is a link to an article about tracking an iPhone by mobile number: have a look . I’ve done it a few times as needed, and the results have been fantastic.
