Top 7 Cleaning Tips Every Homeowner Should Follow

eco cleaningOthers consider cleaning as a way of relaxation. Cleaning is a basic thing that we do every day. However, cleaning makes others exhausted and stressful especially when you have tons of things to do.

Maybe you notice the pile of dirt around the corner but don’t have time to clean it because of other priorities. Knowing some tips and tricks in cleaning your house will give you the upper hand to save time and effort.

Having the right technique will make cleaning efficient. However, you cannot just barge into cleaning without putting into consideration what professionals suggest.

Organizing Goddess, Inc. founder and certified professional organizer Sharon Lowenheim suggests that everything that’s lying on the floor must be disposed of as well as those scattered around on the surface.

Even Done & Done Home founding partner Kate Pawlowski said that having a lot of stuff lying around the house is what makes cleaning difficult for most people. Getting rid of extra stuff will dramatically contribute to making cleaning fast.

Placing your cleaning materials in one corner also adds convenience when you plan on cleaning the next time.

Using a bucket that you can easily carry around while cleaning will save you time from going back-and-forth looking for materials as advised by The Aesthetic Organizer founder Wendy Silberstein.

Making a list of scheduled tasks is also wise in organizing your cleaning plan. For instance, cleaning your bathroom every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, the windows and glass on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, while mopping your floor all throughout each day.

Posting the list where everybody can see is also wise to attract attention and maybe, get some help for each cleaning day.

Clean the Entire House

Making an entire cleaning plan for the whole house is one of the tips for efficient cleaning. Mopping and dusting the entire house will prevent dust from coming flying around the house.

If you plan on cleaning one room at a time, sooner or later, you will find yourself going around circles and unable to finish your task.

In addition, cleaning just a single area is ineffective because the dirt from other places will make it unclean and cleaning will become endless. Instead of wasting time doing minute tasks, schedule an entire clean–up to take out most of the dirt. Although scheduling your tasks on different days is good, a nice overall clean-up is also beneficial.

Gather all Equipment

Gathering your equipment in one handy place saves you time when cleaning.

Aside from making use of one handy space to increase efficiency, organizing your cleaning materials will help in maintaining cleanliness inside your house.

A well-organized cleaning material makes the accessibility of tools easier.

For instance, if you happen to stroll around the supermarket and suddenly bump into the janitorial service, you will notice that they have a portable cart with a mop, a garbage can, and a vacuum cleaner.

Dusting

Never forget to turn off the fan before dusting. This will prevent dust from flying all over the place and avoid unnecessary backlog with your work. Start from the topmost area and make your way down to ensure that dust is cleaned properly.

While having the fan turned off, you can also wipe the fan’s blades and get rid of the dust that got stuck inside.

Wipe Windows and Glass

Using a microfiber cloth, wipe off your windows and glass to get rid of tiny dust. A decorative custom glass jar is also one of the best decors you can have in your home.

But you need to make sure that you wipe them properly with your microfiber cloth. Using a normal cloth will not be able to take out the tiny dust that is left on the surface.

With a cleaning solution, spray them on your glass windows, mirror, and other glass decorations to take off dirt and dust. Just be careful to apply the needed pressure to avoid breaking them.

Disinfection

Proper disinfection not only makes your home look clean but also protects you from getting sick. Bacteria and viruses thrive almost anywhere. Using disinfectants on your table and other surfaces will improve the quality of cleaning.

Disinfecting areas that are constantly used will be helpful in controlling the spread of infection. Door knobs, remote controls, rails, and light switches are the common sites for disinfection.

Bathroom & Sink

A clean bathroom is one of the most notable areas in the house. Proper disinfection and cleaning of the bathroom tub and sink are important.

This is where personal hygiene takes place, hence, maintaining cleanliness is a priority. Using a hand sanitizer or washing your hands should become a habit to stay safe and clean at all times.

Using a disinfectant, spray it all over the tub and the sink. Let it stay for a few minutes then scrub the surfaces. Flush out with water and repeat the same process as necessary. You can also check out some home cleaning tips from guyabouthome to learn how the pros do it.

Cleaning as a Group Activity

Most of us don’t like cleaning because of having the wrong mindset. However, making it a group activity can be fun. Proper delegation and division of labor will help save time and effort.

If the manpower is enough, cleaning even the entire house will be easy. Subdividing tasks for each member of the household will ensure proper cleaning.

Conclusion

Nevertheless, knowing the right technique in cleaning will save you time and effort. Although cleaning takes effort and dedication, you can find ways to make it fun.

Making cleaning a group activity is fun and would encourage members of the household to participate.

With the proper division of labor, each person will feel a sense of achievement and responsibility. Knowing the proper way of cleaning your house will reduce the incidence of illness and at times, relieves stress.

Don’t forget to get rid of any excess items and debris after cleaning this well. Last time I had so many unnecessary things and various garbage, old household appliances that I even had to call junk removal in Broward to get rid of it.

Hey! I really like offices with glass windows on high floors, but it is very difficult to clean these windows, especially from the outside! Doing it yourself is very difficult and even dangerous, so you need to seek help from window cleaning services ! Such services are always a way to find a specialist who will help with solving this problem!
