Tips to Growing Your Very Own Gourmet Mushrooms At HomeBored of store-bought mushrooms that’s lost their special earthy flavour? If you want fresh produce of Oyster or Shiitake mushrooms, why not try to farm fresh mushrooms at a home farm and enjoy their delicate taste?

Mushrooms Grow Fast and Anywhere

Gourmet mushrooms like Oyster, Shiitake and morel mushrooms varieties grow fast and fetch quite high value in the market. They are grown under controlled conditions which make them reliable and safe for use. This also facilitates a consistent yield once you learn the ropes. And they are fast to grow. Oyster mushrooms grow in 3-4 weeks and you can grow batches of them every week of the year.

Growing gourmet mushrooms at home is easy if you try. You will not need access to land. And can make a part time income out of this venture. Sounds exciting? Let’s begin with some tips on growing locally produced, fresh, high food value mushrooms that are reliable to use.

Locate Some Space in Your Backyard

Mushrooms like dark, moist and cool spaces to grow. Your basement is an ideal space. A spot under your sink could also work. Some mushrooms will prefer to grow outdoors in prepared ground or logs. But that is a much time-taking process than the controlled environments of the indoors.  Test the temperature of the spot where you would like to grow these fungi – it should be between 20 and 30 degree Celsius away from sunlight.

You Will Need Spawn and Medium

If you growing mushrooms indoors, then you will need some materials that you can use for planting. You can choose between buying good quality gourmet mushroom growing kits from reliable mushroom farms like Little Acre . These kits come ready, packed with growing medium that is inoculated with mushroom spawn. Farms that already produce top quality, fresh and nutritious mushrooms are likely to supply better quality mushroom growing kits. These kits have everything you need to grow these tasty fungi at home and are a great option for beginners.

You can also choose to start without a kit. In that case you will need a spawn and a good growing medium. Hardwood logs and shredded straw are most commonly used. Spent coffee grounds have also been used for farming Oyster mushrooms.

Mushroom Growing Kits

These kits are great even if you have small spaces and had pressed for time. A good mushroom growing kits will contain substrate inoculated with a live mycelium culture- the mushroom spawn, a spray bottle to mist your farms with water and a detailed instruction card.  Remember to keep your mushroom farms moist and humid at all times and never let them go try. To prevent contamination by foreign spores in the air, you should also keep the farm covered with plastic.

What puts locally grown produce at an advantage is their intact freshness and nutritious quality. Local restaurants and markets are eager to buy fresh home grown mushrooms. Here is your chance to cook some exciting dishes for the family and make some quick cash.

When the psilocybin present in shrooms enters the body, it reaches the brain via blood. Like the LSD, it too bonds with the serotonin receptors. It makes the visual cortex more susceptible to visual signals. This causes hallucinations but the effect is delayed for at least 15 minutes as the body has to first process it.

Pretty interesting information. From time to time I like to eat magic shrooms to relax and I have to buy shrooms online, but now I want to try to grow a small amount for myself and my friends and for this I read various information on this topic.
