talk to loved on about careChoosing a career is hard as it is, however, the good news is, there’s no career choice that is permanent. A person is allowed to switch careers, get another degree or go to college later in life. However, finding a job that is appealing might be a tad challenging, especially if one wants to have a compassionate job that will make the world better. But, in order to do such a job, it’s important to be sure you’re also a kind, empathetic and caring person. So for that reason, here are some amazing and profound jobs and careers, that may be perfect for everyone who is altruistic, helpful and committed to making this world a safer place.

Teaching and education

This one often comes up first, which is no surprise. After all, teaching is empowering, yet in many places, it’s still not that well-paid. But, if the salary isn’t your main motive, then going into teaching is a perfect way to teach kids and youngsters and prepare them for a better future. Also, if you’re truly committed to helping others, then teaching in an impoverished area is definitely a good path. A difficult one, but good and noble. Furthermore, if you opt for a carer in special education, then it’s even better, because if there’s anyone who might benefit from a caring special educator, it’s the kids with developmental issues. Working as a special educator will give you a chance to help kids with autism, Down’s Syndrome, cerebral palsy and other conditions.

Counselling and psychology

If the intricacies of human mind and soul entice you, then opting for a career in counselling might be a perfect solution. You can work as a school therapist, or start your own practice in order to work with less privileged individuals. In case you still want to make a bank, then feel free to cater to more affluent clientele. Mental health issues affect all socioeconomic classes, and since mental health is already stigmatized enough, choosing this type of career will definitely do good in this world, regarding of one’s finances. But, if you want to truly help those less advantaged than you, then working for a non-profit or as a school counsellor will be a great step for your career.

A career in a medical field

Since the medical field is so fast and comprised of different jobs, it’s hard to opt for just one. The coronavirus pandemic taught everyone the importance of healthcare workers, and hopefully, by now, we’ve all learned to appreciate them the way they deserve it. If you’re someone who loves helping people be healthier, then opting for a career in medicine might be the right step for you. Now, going to a med school and becoming a doctor is quite stressful and, frankly, expensive, so if this doesn’t appeal to you, that makes sense. Therefore, choosing something less strenuous, such as nursing or occupational therapy is a better option. Also, completing a PALS online course will help you be a better medical professional. A career in healthcare is a perfect way to help others and make their lives better.

Immigration law

If you live in a country where immigration is a hot issue, and you want to help immigrants who’ve gotten unlucky, then a career in immigration law might be your cup of tea. Of course, to do that job, you’d need to go to law school first and foremost. Also, keep in mind that being an immigration lawyer might not pay as well as another career in law (such as corporate law or criminal law) but you’ll definitely feel fulfilled knowing you’ve helped someone acquire a legal status in your country.

Massage and physical therapy

This might fall under the medical career umbrella, but it’s still a force of its own. A career where you help people recover from physical injuries is the right fit for anyone who likes to use their hands in order to help others. Therefore, if you’re someone who wants to heal others through physical touch, then feel free to consider a career in physical therapy or massage. Even if you opt for a job that does only regular relaxing massage therapy, you’d still be helping many people unwind from their stressful and demanding jobs. Firefighters, professional athletes, hairdressers are only some jobs that benefit from massage therapy on a regular level.

Your job is meaningful if it fulfills you and makes you a better person. However, these career choices might be great for you if you’re someone who enjoys helping others. In case the injustices of this world bother you on a deeply personal level, then choosing a career that aims to correct these issues will be the right way to help others and make this world a better, more humane and equal place.
