Summer is here and positivity and happiness are starting to spread among even the grumpiest of us. It’s scientifically proven that people are in a better mood during the summer. Reasons for this are various, the main one being the number of sunny days and nice weather in general. Moreover, summer is a time for vacations and everyone likes some time away from work, whether it’s for a trip or simply some chill time at home. All things considered, your interior should be in sync with the summer mood. This means you could use some redecorating in order to achieve this. It doesn’t have to be much or expensive, you just need a few tweaks to bring the summer vibes into your home.
Introduce summer colours
If you feel that your living room is too dark or cold, try and bring in some warmer colours. A combination of yellow and orange can really brighten a place up. Of course, you don’t want to change your entire interior, but a great way to change the colours of a room is to change the curtains, sofa and chair covers, as well as pillows. Once you cover these areas, it will make the place look completely different even though the furniture is the same. If you’re in the mood, you can also add some wallpapers to complete the summer look.
Decorations
The devil is in the details and this is the truth. Instead of changing an expensive piece of furniture, you can just update it a little bit. If you have an old coffee table, you can sand it and repaint it to be more summery. It would be cool if you bought colourful photo frames and put happy, summer-activities photos of you and your loved ones on one side of the room. You can also put up cool posters or awesome canvas prints. Something that has beaches, palm trees and water. You want the summer to come into your home. You can even put up stickers on your cupboards or draw on the walls if you’re feeling creative or add a Henriksdal chair cover to your furniture. All these activities cost only your time and effort and a minimal amount of cash.
Plants
Why should your ocean beach poster be alone? You can put some beach palms in a pot next to it for a more realistic effect. There are amazingly decorative plants that are great candidates for brightening your place up. We recommend ones that like indoor atmospheres in the summer and ones that are very leafy. If you like the jungle vibe, you’re free to go nuts with the amount of plants you bring into the room. Just make sure to educate yourself well on proper maintenance of these plants and try not to bite off more than you can chew. Sure, plants are great ornaments, but they are living beings that require a dose of responsibility and care.
Outdoors
Whether you live in a house or a flat, you probably have a garden or a terrace. When summer comes, this will be the main part of your home where you’ll be spending your summer months. This is why it requires special attention. If you don’t already have a seating area, you need to get one as soon as possible. On the other hand, if you have one, wash it and check if it’s ready to be used. You can change the cushions and tablecloths to a tiki motif and add some cool accessories. Check if your outdoor plants are OK and whether you’d like to add more to the group. Also, think about day and night atmosphere. As for daytime, it would be cool to get those sprinklers that freshen the air up every minute or two, so you could make your garden or balcony as pleasant as possible. As for the night, consider getting those solar lanterns that look gorgeous and require no maintenance whatsoever.
As you can see, transforming your home into the summer edition doesn’t have to be difficult or expensive. You just need a few cool ideas and some enthusiasm to make it true. If you get stuck when it comes to the realization of your ideas, you can always find a tutorial on the internet or ask a friend for some help.

With the beginning of summer, I really always want to change something in my home. Great article, thanks for sharing. Since I am a guitarist, I would like to add a “touch” of my hobby to the decor of the house itself, so I was looking for ideas, and I found excellent ones like yours here.
