I’ve visited the capital city of Sacramento many times and I’m happy to report that the foodie scene there continues to grow. Especially in the vegan, gluten free and special diet arena. Putting politics and government aside, Sacramento is quickly becoming a capital for good, healthy eats! Here are some things to do in Sacramento that you’ll love!
The new and improved Sugar Plum Vegan is the newest hot spot to blow up on the Sacramento scene. Now under new management, the casual dining joint is airy, hip and rockin’ a fab new menu. Soups, salads, sandwiches and crazy good sweets, Sugar Plum aims to keep kickin’ delicious vegan butt. Their burger is to die for as is their giant cheesy artichoke dip appetizer. So many options, you’ll need to bring a bunch of buddies to help you eat through the whole menu. Come in for a coffee and pastry for breakfast, come back for lunch and dinner!
I’m always up for finding a city’s best pizza spot and I found Sacramento’s own Wicked West Pizza. Using organic ingredients and now offering gluten free crusts and vegan cheese, this is the place for your Italian pie indulgence. Plus, it’s a great spot for all sorts of family fun, parties and get togethers as WWP has a party room where you can go nuts with pizza goodness along with access to all the fun games for kids of all ages. Healthy eats and fun family treats, it’s a no brainer!
Located in midtown, you’ll find Golden Bear. A place for serious foodies, the menu showcases seasonal eats with a “healthier” twist. And they haven’t forgotten abut their veggie lovin’ friends as they are launching their house made veggie burger along with offering a great veggie burrito and veganizable salads and pizzas. It’s a great place for all sorts of diners to leave happy, satisfied and full!
Lastly but very not leastly, Sacramento boats a fab raw vegan locale called Green Boheme. With brunch and delicously filling entrees served all day, its raw gourmet at its finest. Boasting raw, vegan, gluten free and soy free eats, it’s the ultimate place to dine with absolutely zero guilt! The tortilla soup is divine, the purple burrito is awesome and the raw cheescakes are sinful! A must visit!
Well, I’m sure Sacramento and its surrounding areas are going to continue to blow my foodie mind so next time I’m there, Ill be reporting back to you!
