Simple Solutions for 3 Common Skincare Concerns

healthy skinWhether you’re attending an event soon or gearing up for your first job interview, it can be hard to feel confident when you’re struggling with skin problems.

It might be because of time, sun exposure, age, genetics, or even viruses. The thing is, most people are no strangers to skincare concerns, and you shouldn’t feel bad if you find yourself faced with a similar dilemma. What’s important is to focus on the fixes.

The good news is, these common problems are very manageable, and there are things you can do to solve them and feel more confident in your skin.

Acne and oily skin

Remember your teenage days when the biggest problem you had was a zit that magically appeared before homecoming? Acne is one of the most common facial skin problems when you’re a teenager, but it has the tendency to show up even after the age of 25.

A lot of factors lead up to acne: hormonal changes, bacteria build-up, sebum or oil from the hair follicle, and even stress. Usually these result in excess oil, which leads to follicles becoming clogged and inflamed, followed by pimples, blackheads and whiteheads.

To combat this, you have to make sure to keep your face and skin as clean as possible, preferably using a gentle cleanser. Be careful not to dry your skin out too much, because that will also cause it to produce excess oil. For makeup and skincare products, use those that are mattifying and shine-free.

Other things you can do is to take a break (stress plays a big role!) and maybe even cut down on dairy (which is often full of progesterone).

Uneven skin tone

If your skin looks uneven and you see hyperpigmentation in some parts, you could benefit from sunscreen and a balanced diet.

Usually, this problem is caused by sun damage, genetics, age, or even as a leftover effect of acne.

So don’t forget to cleanse, moisturize, and apply sunscreen. And if you’re on a restricted diet, modify it to include more nutrients and vitamins.

And of course, if you think you need the training and expertise of the professionals, you can always book an appointment at a clinic like dermmedica.ca. Cosmetic dermatologists are a godsend when it comes to skincare.

Large pores

You see those tiny openings in the surface of your skin? Those are pores and those are where moisturizing oils are released.

People don’t like them when they’re large enough to be visible, probably because of cosmetic reasons and its effect on the oiliness of your skin. You see, while pore size is affected by genetics, they can also appear larger when oil and skin cells are trapped within them. This can lead to a number of skincare problems.

To minimize pores, you should invest in cleansing and exfoliating products that are designed to treat this specific problem. With the right products and regimen, your skin will start to feel smooth again in no time.

These are just some of the many common skincare problems that people deal with on a regular basis. But as long as you stick to a proper skincare routine and maintain healthy habits, you should be fine.

And anyway, if you don’t think it’s a problem, it doesn’t have to be. The important thing is that you feel beautiful in your skin.

Reading body language, or non-verbal cues is a way to infer things about people you see around you or have interactions with.
