quick beauty tipsIf you’re a busy working mum, you might not be able to spend hours doing your hair and makeup or visiting beauty salons. In fact, you probably spend most of your time sending emails, dancing to nursery rhymes and making sure everyone is fed and watered – but that doesn’t mean you can’t look glamorous. There are many ways to improve your appearance while juggling family life and a career, so check out these quick beauty tips.

Wash and dry your hair at night

Let’s face it, mornings are pretty hectic for most families – what with trying to get everyone ready for school, nursery and such like – so why not save time by washing and drying your hair at night when the children are in bed? Sure, you might feel like collapsing on the sofa by eight in the evening, but it’s amazing how good a quick shower can make you feel. Not only that, but if you dry and straighten your hair before sleeping, you’ll have sleek, shiny locks when you wake up. Moreover, with a great array of beauty essentials available on the high street or via sites like Brosch Direct, you’ll have your fair share of pamper products to enjoy when you’re alone.

Moisturise, moisturise, moisturise

If your skin often looks dry and dull in the morning, try applying a decent body moisturiser before leaving the house. Not only will this keep your skin looking healthy but it can also protect it from environmental damage including pollution, smoke and UV rays (particularly if the moisturiser has an SPF of at least 15) and replace the moisture skin loses every day. Essentially, it’ll give your complexion a lift helping it to shine throughout the day – which in turn can make you look less tired and more youthful. Choosing the right product for your skin type is essential, however, so it’s worth asking a beauty therapist or dermatologist for advice.

Don’t forget your lippie/lip gloss

Want to look beautiful for work but don’t have time to apply a full face of makeup? Then fear not, as lippie alone can make a big difference to your appearance. Even if you’re not wearing foundation, blusher, eyeliner, mascara or any other beauty product, the right lipstick will instantly brighten up your face and make it look like you’ve made an effort – but be sure to choose a shade that suits your complexion. What’s more, throw it into your bag and you’ll be able to touch up your colour throughout the day. Not a lipstick kind of girl? Then lip gloss might be the right option for you. It’s more subtle but will help your lips to sparkle.

Wear the right underwear/shapewear

If you’re running late it can be easy to throw on the first thing you find in your lingerie draw – but try not to do this. Wearing a matching underwear set that flatters your figure and enhances your assets will give you a better shape and help you to feel a lot more attractive. Similarly, if you’re wearing a tight dress or a fitted outfit, don’t forget your invisible knickers or shapewear and workout essentials as this will ensure your outfit looks as good as possible. 

Looking great really doesn’t have to take much time at all, so give these few tips a go and make the most of your appearance.
