Spending time as a family is just priceless. From the first moments you get to spend with your newborn, to the few minutes you’ll get to spend with your teenager before they lock themselves in their room for the night, or head off out with their friends for the 100th time in a week. Even if you don’t have children who are anywhere near their teenage years yet, we know you’re dreading the time where they seek out that independence, that means that they’re no longer coming to you as much as they used to. It’s like your little baby is leaving you! So you’ll soon come to learn that family time becomes precious, and the memories you can make by just spending a little quality time together is so important. But sometimes it can be hard to know what to do that’s going to keep the whole family entertained, and different to what you usually do. There’s only so many parks you can visit, friends you can have playdates with, and family centered days out you can do. So why not think about switching it up a little, and starting some fun family projects that everyone can get involved in, and you can be proud of by the time they’re finished. If you’re intrigued, all you have to do is sit back and relax, and we’ll show you what we’re talking about!
A Family Scrapbook
This is one of the best ideas that we’re going to give you, because we know it’s not something that every family is doing. People like to make scrapbooks about their holidays and adventures, but it’s not often that families in particular create one. But what better way to look back on the year, than if you were to all keep chipping in and filling in the pages with moments that they think have been special to them. It doesn’t matter how old your children are…unless they’re still only a baby, everyone can contribute to this. Even if you’ve only got a little baby, you and your partner can still start this off and make it a trend that you carry on throughout the years. You could stop when your children reach the age of 18, and you should have 18 scrapbooks to look back through, and how amazing would it be to recount all of the incredible memories you’ve made as a family. As a backup, you could make sure that you’re storing all of the images on something like dropbox, because we know that at some point during your scrapbook journey, things will definitely get lost. Dropbox for Mac is super easy to use, and definitely a good long term storage solution that will never go, no matter how many new devices you have. You can get really funky with this as well, if you go on Amazon and search for scrapbook accessories, you’ll find so many different artsy items to make it look really cool, it doesn’t have to be a page full of images. Keep things like train tickets, plane tickets, wristbands from events, flowers from a walk…anything that represents a special day for you, keep it!
A Garden Project
Having young children means that you’re most likely going to be outdoors a lot of the time, mainly watching them run around playing their imaginary games. It’s fascinating to watch! But sometimes the garden is not as geared up towards family fun as it could be, and we’re about to make it a whole lot better. We hope you have the space for this idea, but if you don’t, it might inspire you as to other ways that you can get creative with a garden project. So the idea that we have, is building a little outdoor playhouse. We would say wendy house, but you might have boys that aren’t interested in this. With an outdoor playhouse, you can turn it into anything that you and your children want it to be. Now you might think this is going to be hard, but that’s only because you haven’t thought about it before. There are hundreds of articles, and a good few Youtube videos that will talk you through it step by step. If you’re lucky enough, you might have someone who is excellent at building things in your life that could help out. Once built, you can make it a room full of adventure and fun, and it adds a little something to your garden that you don’t tend to see everyday!
Getting Arts & Craftsy
Being arts and craftsy is not something that will come naturally to all of you, but we think that only adds to the fun of it all. There are so many ways that you can get creative with the things you have around you, it’s not all about colouring and painting. So think about a piece of wooden furniture that you think is ready for the out. It might be a bed frame, or a coffee table. Now, make it into a fun arts and crafts project that the whole family can get involved in. it doesn’t have to be a masterpiece, it can be a messy table full of your child’s handprints, and a few paintings that you can do. It can then be put into the spare room as a funky little addition, and it saves a good piece of furniture going to waste. Or perhaps your children are old enough to get really creative with this and make something really cool out of it.
Getting Fit Quick
A final one that you might not have been thinking we’d come out with, but what better way to feel like you’re getting in shape, than to get the whole family involved with it as well. Childhood obesity is one the rise quicker than it ever has before, largely due to the fact that they want to stay indoors hooked up to technology. So every weekend, and perhaps a night or two in the week, go for a family walk. Or perhaps even a bike ride if that floats your boat. Not only is it fun and sociable, but it’s sneakily keeping your family fit and active!

You are right, these are important stages to the beginning of your well-being in the family. After all, if you are not financially and career-supported, have good communication and communication, most likely there will be new disputes and dissatisfaction, which is bad for family relationships
