healthier hairBesides sew-ins, wigs have been considered the ultimate protective style when trying to give your natural hair a break. They’ve always been the perfect way to maintain a great look without the hassle of styling your hair. It makes life simple when you can throw on a wig and go but have you ever taken the time to consider what’s underneath? It’s been a lot of light shed on the importance of maintaining your natural hair properly under your wig. Not only will this help your hair to stay healthy but it gives it the chance to grow. To get the most out of your wig, learn these several vital tips that can help you effectively grow your hair while being protected by your unit.

Routine shampooing and conditioning

Making it a habit to routinely cleanse your hair thoroughly while wearing a wig can make a huge difference in how it grows. Giving your scalp the chance to have a clean start helps to avoid any type of build-up that can happen while wearing a wig. With a good shampoo, you are removing all dirt and debris from your hair and letting your scalp breathe. With good conditioning, you help your hair to retain the proper moisture it will need to sustain overtime while being kept under the wig.

Moisturize and detangle

Keeping your natural hair moisturized while consistently wearing a wig can help to prevent unwanted dryness which can lead to breakage. It wouldn’t be a nice surprise when you remove your wig to find your hair in shambles. When thoroughly moisturized, you can easily detangle your hair to rid it of any knots that are also contributing factors to hair breakage. Finding a good hair growth oil can keep your hair hydrated and retain more moisture. With a serum that is focused on hair growth you can also reap the benefits when applying it consistently.

Use a wig cap

Before you even think about rocking a wig, the most assured step you can take to protect your natural hair and that will promote growth is wear a wig cap. Wig caps were designed to prevent any layered friction that can cause breakage to your hair and most importantly, besides using a lace glue, it can help by keeping it in place. Are they necessary? Totally not! They are strictly based on your preference however we highly recommend wearing them as promotion for good hair health.

The right choice of hair care products is already half the success. It is better to give your preference to natural hair cosmetics, avoiding products that contain silicones, parabens and sulfates. Also, for a healthier look of hair, you will need a regular haircut, this article https://wisebarber.com/hair-clipper-guard-sizes/ will help you choose the necessary tool, and you will be able to get a haircut yourself
