Four Fabulous Fashion Tips for Plus Size Babes

plus size topsMany women mistakenly believe that you have to be a size 0 to be stylish, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. As we see more #BodyPositive movements and further brands bring out plus size ranges, curvy girls are killing it in the fashion world. Whether you’re perfectly content with the way you look or are on a mission to slim down, these fabulous fashion tips will help keep you looking and feeling your best all the time.

#1. Invest in High-Quality Shapewear:

For many women, one of the biggest rules of getting dressed is ‘hide the belly’, but if you’re carrying a little bit of extra weight around your middle, trying to conceal it can result in you always choosing loose, oversized garments that leave you looking and feeling shapeless and frumpy. High-quality shapewear will smooth out your figure, leaving you feeling more confident to wear high-waisted jeans or that form-fitting dress that you’ve had hanging in your wardrobe for months.

#2. Get the Sizes Right:

Shopping for clothes as a plus-size lady can become tricky; not everywhere will stock items in your size and fashion brands will always differ between sizes. Being one or two sizes smaller or bigger in another shop can be understandably confusing, so the best way to ensure you always get the best fit is to measure yourself for size. Once you have your measurements, head online – every fashion brand worth its salt today will provide customers with an online size chart for reference. This will make it easier for you to figure out what size you need for specific shops and labels.

#3. Choose a Comfortable Size:

So, you’ve taken measurements, browsed your favorite online clothing store and picked out some trendy plus size tops that you love. Whilst taking measurements can definitely make it easier for you to get the right fit, don’t be afraid of trying on several different sizes to make sure that you pick one which feels just right. This can be trickier when ordering online, so make sure that you’re clued up on the returns procedure beforehand.

#4. Know Your Fabrics:

The type of fabric that you’re wearing will have a massive impact on anybody’s look, and for many curvy ladies, certain fabrics tend to be a much more flattering option than others. Take the time to try on a variety of different garments to see which fabrics you feel good in, and which are best avoided. Remember that this is all down to your own personal preference, and there’s no ‘do’s and don’ts’. Push yourself to try on items that you wouldn’t normally wear – you may be pleasantly surprised once you have it on!

#5. Wear What You Love:

Lastly, life’s too short to spend time worrying about society’s ‘rules’ for plus size fashion. Always wear the clothes that you enjoy putting on because they make you feel good about yourself.

Did you enjoy these tips? We’d love to hear from you in the comments.

We may think baggy clothes are a good idea when we have extra weight on our bodies, but this is not the case. Baggy clothes make you look bigger than you really are, so it is best to opt for tight-fitting clothing instead. Wear dark colors. This will slim down your shape and make you feel more confident when wearing certain styles of clothing. Reading https://themusicuniverse.com/how-does-music-affect-learning-process-students/ has taught me the music causes a very positive impact on the learning process. Now, I often hear music while writing assignments. There are a lot of people out there who, for some reason, have a misconception about plus-size fashion.
