Camping is one of the best holidays you can go on. It is great fun and can be often a cheap way to get away from your home and the stresses of work. Whether this is your first time planning a trip away or if you have been camping for a while it can never hurt to have a look at a checklist of things to take. You will still feel that feeling of forgetting something, but it may help you realize that you haven’t. This list is not exhaustive, but it is a starting point.
Generators
Having a portable generator is one of the easiest ways to ensure that your camping trip is a success. You can charge up any of your goods if you need to like your phone or camera or you can use a generator to power your cooking equipment. You can treat yourself to some lovely meals in nature all without too much hassle when you have an accessible portable generator. The best thing about these handy gadgets is that some are even solar-powered and so can not only charge your goods but also charge themselves.
Sleeping gear
It can be easy to just look for the cheapest equipment out there if you are only camping for a few days or a weekend, but you should avoid doing this. Having useful and good quality sleeping equipment can make or break a trip. You don’t want to find yourself settling down for the night and having a chill coming into your tent or worse a leak that will leave you soaking and frozen. Make sure that you get the right equipment and that you can set it up. You wouldn’t stay in a hotel that was below standard so don’t do it for your tent.
Think about lighting
It will not surprise you to learn that when you are out in nature, it gets very dark during the evenings. So much so that you will be unable to see. You may lose your camp and hurt yourself if you are unlucky. This is why you should pack some things that will keep your camp visible. This can be a lantern that you can hang from your tent, a headlamp to take out with you, or something to start a fire that will last. Don’t get caught out otherwise you will find that you need to go to bed very early when it gets dark.
Clothing
Getting the right clothing for camping is really important. If you cannot get comfortable it is not like you can just jump to the store. Make sure that you have comfortable hiking shoes and comfy shoes to swap into and short as well as long-sleeved shirts. You need to prepare for all weather to enjoy camping.
