If you haven’t heard of Dwell magazine, I think it’s time you do. If you’re into hip, chic and eco home style, this is the publication for you. Recently, Dwell hosted a fabulous home show here in LA and obviously, I gravitated toward all the neat eco stuff on the showroom floor. Oh, the way my home would gleam of eco-stylishness with a little extra spending cash! Anyhoo, I thought I’d share with you some of the green products of note at this year’s Dwell on Design Home Show!
- Root Pouch – Made up entirely of recycled bottles, Root Pouch makes fabric containers for plants, flowers, gardens, etc. From large rooftop gardens to hanging your herb garden on your kitchen wall, they’ve got something for you. Easy to install, earth friendly, affordable and making it simple to have a garden regardless of your space!
- Environment Furniture – Sophisticated, chic and super eco-furnishings. It’s hot!
- Eco Arbor Designs – One of the coolest items I saw at the show was by Eco Arbor designs. Dreading building a deck in your back yard or roof top? Dread no more! Eco Arbor makes fabulous, green, wood tiles that you lay in a snap to create a deck space. Completely sustainable woods, colors and styels (come have LED lights in them for path ways), you can have a brand new, eco-friendly area in just a few minutes!
- Reclaimed Space – Custom built and delivered living spaces. Way stylish and can be anything from a guest house or work space to being a primary residence (if you live light!) These homes a re so unique that you can customize these pre-fab dwellings with modern kitchens, vintage bathrooms and decorate with more green furniture. Who would choose trailer park living over this sexy shack?
- Nook Sleep Systems – Non-toxic, environmentally sound and healthier mattresses for babies. Their innovative pebble design made with eucalyptus fibers, is soft and allows air flow to keep baby comfy and sound asleep all night long ; )
- Ideapaint – Make any surface a dry erase surface with Idea Paint! For school, office or even at home, make every space a creative one with their special paint.
- Brinca Dada – The modern doll house for kids with discerning taste ; ) Eco doll houses with mega style and flare.
- Greg Fleishman Studios – This architect, designer, artist and inventor’s work is largely informed by geometry and functionality. From shade/shelter structures to furniture as well as kids playgrounds and even vehicles, these wood structures will blow your mind!
- Eis Studio – See that big pebble I’m sitting on? It’s by these guys! Eis makes all sorts of functionally decorative goodies but my favorite is their indoor and outdoor pebble seating. They’re a full on design studio so from interesting furnishings to a whole new eco-house, they can help!
I could go on for pages but these were just some of the highlights ; ) If you’re around next year, make it a point to check out the show and if not, keep up with Dwell online!

Great new green designs suggestions! If you’re looking for luxe ecofashion and home decor products, you should definitely check out GIANNA. Not only are their products organic and eco-friendly, but they’re fair trade, so every purchase contributes to helping empower the disadvantaged women artisans they work with. Would look stunning with some of the furniture pieces by Environment Furniture, too.
