Cut Your Waiting Game Short By Finding Out What’s Causing Your Conception Delays

Conception DelaysTrying for a baby is about the most exciting thing any couple can embark on. If you thought marriage was good, wait until you experience the strength of a shared conception journey. This will take your love to new levels, and can certainly be a thrilling ride if you catch our meaning.

The only problem is, the road to pregnancy is often longer than many people realize or prepare for. We hear so often of teens getting pregnant after just one night. And, yet, when you start TRYING to have a baby, it can seem like no amount of fun between the sheets gets you there. Weeks, months, and even years can pass with no conception. And, that can be heartbreaking. In truth, though, it isn’t unusual. In fact, the majority of couples fail to conceive before the three-month mark.

So, if you’ve been stressing yourself about your ongoing monthly cycle, don’t. You aren’t alone, and you certainly shouldn’t jump to the worst conclusions imaginable. Bear in mind, too, that stress is a nightmare for conception. So, chill out, sit back, and read on to find out what could be causing your conception delay.

Fertility problems

We may have told you not to jump to the worst conclusion, but fertility problems are probably still at the front of your mind. So, let’s start with these. There’s nothing to say this is what’s happening to you. However, there is a possibility that you or your partner have fertility issues. But, that doesn’t have to be the life sentence it sounds like. In truth, something as simple as a low sperm count can drag out the conception process. It doesn’t mean you can’t get pregnant the natural way; it just means you might wait a little longer. The best thing you can do here is get checked. Instead of stressing yourself and further decreasing your conception chances, book a test. Even if there’s an issue, knowing about it puts you in the best position to find alternatives. If fertility isn’t on your cards, doctors can point you in the direction of adoption agencies or surrogacy. There are plenty of numbers to call to get you started on these journeys. There are even online resources to help you decide and prepare. Companies like Conceiveabilities explain how surrogacy works on their website, and you can find equally useful information out there about IVF.  The point is, you won’t know you need these things until you face this fear. So, book that appointment already.

You aren’t helping yourself

It’s also crucial to note that you need to help yourself if you want to get pregnant. For the most part, this means cutting unhealthy habits like drinking and smoking. Habits like these can impact fertility in both men and women, and you need to cut them out if you’re set on baby making. Smoking, in particular, has links to infertility. Even in less extreme cases, it can cause you conception delays. Equally, alcohol can lead to a lower sperm count in men, and lower egg health in women. Even caffeine addiction can cause issues by impacting hormone levels and thus ovulation. All these could be to blame for your waiting game.

Aside from just not indulging in bad habits, though, you need to make particular efforts to help yourself during this period. This could start by taking vitamins. We all know these are essential for ensuring mothers-to-be stay healthy. But, they can also help before things get that far. Everything from zinc to calcium can increase conception chances. So, head to your local health food store and stock up now to see what a difference this makes.

You don’t know your cycle

If you already take care of your body, the issue could be that you don’t know your cycle well enough. While some women track every aspect of their fertility, a lot of us assume things will take care of themselves. And, sometimes they do just that. But, the plain fact is most women are only fertile for a week or two of their cycles. The rest of the time, you won’t get pregnant no matter how much you try. Hence why conception methods like Natural Cycles are such a hit. As such, it could help to pay a little more attention. Simply buying an ovulation test and tracking your periods could do the trick here. This way, you’ll be able to pinpoint your ovulation date and make the most of it to speed things along.
