credit cardIf you travel frequently for business or pleasure, you need an appropriate credit card. There are many great cards out there that offer travel benefits. However, with so many from which to choose, how do you know which one is best? These are some of the best travel credit cards with rewards for 2018.

Chase Sapphire Reserve Visa Card

The Chase Sapphire Reverse Visa credit card is widely considered the best travel credit card available. With it, users can earn 3 points per dollar spent on travel and dining purchases and 1 point for each dollar they spend on all other purchases. It is also possible to earn 50,000 points after spending $4,000 on the card within the first three months of opening your account.

You also get a perk of $300 annually toward travel credit, which applies to the majority of travel-related purchases. There are no foreign transaction fees and you can receive a number of hotel, air and car rental perks. If you are able to afford the $450 annual fee, this travel credit card is well worth it thanks to all the travel rewards you can receive.

Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card

With the Capital One Venture Rewards credit card, you can get a one-time bonus of 50,000 miles after you make at least $3,000 worth of purchases within the first three months of opening your account. This is essentially the equivalent of $500 in travel. In addition, you can also earn 2X miles for every dollar spent on all purchases on a daily basis.

Another nice perk is that you can earn unlimited 10X miles on hotels when you pay for your stays with the credit card. The Venture has an APR of 14.24 to 24.24 percent variable and no annual fee for the first year. After that first year of holding the card, the annual fee is $95. Good to excellent credit is required to qualify and you can use the card to pay off car title loans Tampa FL has to offer if you live within the state.

Barclaycard Arrival Plus World Elite MasterCard

The Barclaycard Arrival Plus World Elite MasterCard has no annual fee for the first year and an $89 fee thereafter. Earn 2 points for every dollar you spend on all purchases and a five percent bonus when you redeem your rewards points for statement credits. Your redeemed points can be used to cover all purchases related to travel.

You can also earn a total of 40,000 rewards points after spending $3,000 using the card within the first 90 days of opening your account. This card gives you other great perks, such as free upgrades and discounts on business class tickets with specific airlines that are partners of Barclaycard.

Bank of America Travel Rewards Credit Card

With the Bank of America Travel Rewards credit card, you can earn 1.5 points for each dollar you spend on all purchases. Earn 20,000 online bonus points after making a minimum of $1,000 on purchases within 90 days of opening your account. Your bonus points can be transferred to a $200 statement credit you can use toward travel purchases. This card also allows you to book your trip without restrictions. There is an introductory zero APR for the first 12 billing cycles and the regular APR increases thereafter to 16.24 to 24.24 percent. The card carries no annual fee.

These are excellent credit cards that offer travel benefits. If you are a frequent flyer, each card is well worth looking into. Compare each of them to find the one that best fits your needs. If you want to learn more about how you can use travel credit cards plus miles and points to save on travel costs, listen to the Miles Ahead podcast for more information.
