vegan new years eve party recipesWhether you are a stay-at-home mom or dad, working from home or just don’t want to leave the house, sometimes you need to entertain guests while they are over for lunch. This can be a bit of a challenge, but it’s not impossible. In this blog post, we will discuss some ways that you can keep your guests entertained without leaving the house!

1. Have an interesting sitting area

Your guests will be spending a lot of time sitting, so make sure that your sitting area is comfortable and inviting. If you don’t have a lot of furniture, consider borrowing some from friends or family. You can also get creative and use things like blankets and pillows to create a cozy space. Also, consider adding an outdoor wall fountain near your sitting area which will add to the ambiance. The wall fountain is also a great conversation starter! If you have a TV in your sitting area, be sure to turn it off. You don’t want your guests to feel like they are being ignored in favor of the television. Instead, use this time to catch up with your guests and get to know them.

2. Prepare some snacks and drinks

No matter how long your guests are staying, they are going to need something to eat and drink. If you’re having a lot of people over, you may want to consider ordering pizza or catering. However, if you’re only having a few people over, you can easily prepare some snacks and drinks ahead of time. Consider making a fruit tray or veggie platter for your guests to munch on. You can also make some simple sandwiches or wraps. As for drinks, have water and soda available as well as coffee and tea. If you want to get fancy, you can make a pitcher of iced tea or lemonade. Your guests will appreciate your efforts!

3. Have some fun activities planned

If you want your guests to enjoy their time at your house, you should have some fun activities planned. This doesn’t mean that you need to go out and buy a bunch of games, but it does mean that you should think about what everyone will enjoy doing. If you have kids, they will probably want to play outside or watch a movie. Adults may appreciate playing cards or chat over a glass of wine. No matter what activities you choose, make sure that everyone will be able to participate and have a good time.

4. Make sure your house is clean

This may seem like a no-brainer, but you would be surprised how many people forget to do this. Before your guests arrive, take some time to tidy up your house. This includes things like putting away any clutter, vacuuming the floors, and dusting the furniture. You don’t need to go overboard with the cleaning, but you should make sure that your house is presentable. Sometimes, the dust and clutter can be overwhelming, so it’s best to just take care of it before your guests arrive. Also, make sure to clean the bathrooms! This is one area that guests always notice.

5. Have a beautiful landscape

Another way to make a good impression on your guests is to have a beautiful landscape. This doesn’t mean that you need to have a perfect lawn, but you should take some time to clean up your yard and add some flowers or plants. This will give your house a much more inviting look. Plus, it will be something for your guests to enjoy while they are sitting outside. The lawn is also a great place for kids to play, so make sure that it is safe and clean.

6. Be a good host

The most important thing to remember when entertaining guests is to be a good host. This means being friendly, accommodating, and hospitable. You should make sure that your guests feel welcome and comfortable in your home. If you are having trouble thinking of things to say, ask them questions about themselves. Show genuine interest in getting to know them better. Also, don’t forget to thank them for coming over! A little appreciation goes a long way.

7. Put some nice lighting options

One way to make your home more inviting is to put in some nice lighting options. This could mean adding some lamps in the living room or stringing up some fairy lights in the backyard. You want your guests to feel comfortable and relaxed, so good lighting is essential. Consider what kind of atmosphere you want to create and then choose your lighting accordingly. People love being in well-lit areas, so this is something to keep in mind.

8. Make sure you have enough seating

This is another important thing to keep in mind when entertaining guests. You want to make sure that everyone has a place to sit and relax. If you don’t have enough chairs, your guests will be forced to stand around or sit on the floor. This is not very comfortable for anyone. So, before your guests arrive, make sure that you have enough seating for everyone. This includes both indoor and outdoor seating. Also, if you have any pets, make sure that they are put away so that they don’t take up any extra space.

Why should you entertain guests?

One of the most important things to do when entertaining guests is to make sure they are comfortable. This means creating a welcoming environment and providing them with everything they need. This could include offering them refreshments as soon as they arrive, giving them a place to sit down, and making sure the temperature in the room is comfortable. Some people like to chat with their guests as soon as they arrive, while others prefer to wait until everyone is seated and ready to eat. Either way, it is important to make sure that you are engaging with your guests and making them feel welcome.

Once you have everything prepared, it’s time to relax and enjoy the time with your guests. This is your chance to catch up with old friends or get to know new people. Don’t worry about being a perfect hostess – just focus on having a good time. Your guests will appreciate your efforts, and they’ll be sure to come back for more! Thanks for reading and we hope these tips help you entertain your guests!
