nose jobThere is something powerful about your sense of smell. Have you ever smelled something good, bad, or otherwise, and you were instantly taken back to an important memory? Now imagine you picked up your favorite Versace Bright Crystal on sale or you kept your Chanel No. 5 hidden away for special occasions. When would you be most likely to wear those scents?

Saving your favorite perfumes for special events means those moments would forever be seared in the memory of the person or people you were with. Anytime they smelled those fragrances, they would remember you and what you were doing that day. It would have a powerful effect.

This also means that you need something else to help you smell great on ordinary days. It’s okay to save perfume for special dates and find natural options for other days. You can have a subtle and pleasing aroma without needing to buy your favorite perfume all the time. Here are the top natural products to help you smell good.

Rose Water

Rosewater has long been used as a natural fragrance. Even in ancient times, people would harvest roses for their unique smell. The light scent of roses has a refreshing aroma. It’s a natural and simple way to smell good all the time. Rosewater also has many incredible benefits. You can use it on your skin to help fight free radicals and reduce the signs of aging. You can spray some in your hair to keep those flyaways and frizz from getting out of control. Natural hydration helps to soften your hair to make it less prone to damage and breakage.

Keep Your Body Odor in Check Naturally

Using a natural deodorant is another way to help you smell good naturally. By using natural deodorants that don’t contain aluminum or sulfates you can still rid your body of odor. Some people like to use salt blocks as deodorant, while others use brands like Schmidt’s, Lume, or Native. Each of these brands uses a variety of ingredients including some baking soda to limit how bad your body smells. They add in natural fragrances or essential oils to not only help reduce your bad smell but also improve your good smells.

Investigate Dakhoon/Bahkoor Fuming

Most people think that natural scents need to be sprayed or dabbed on the body. But in the Middle East, they use fumes from specific plants and trees instead. Think about when you sit by a campfire, and you can smell the aroma of the fire on your hair and clothes for days. They use this same principle. They use special wood chips infused with oils, perfumes, and other naturally fragrant items. Then they burn the chips and use specific techniques to ensure the scent permeates their clothes and body. This is the basis for Dahkoon/Bahkoor fuming.

Use a Variety of Essential Oils

Essential oils are compounds that come directly from plants. By extracting these fragrant and therapeutic oils, you have an easy and natural way to smell great. If you love citrus scents, find something with lemon, orange, or bergamot essential oils. These not only smell refreshing, they also can help reduce anxiety and stress.

If you’re looking for something with floral scents, neroli, lavender, ylang-lang, and jasmine all have beautiful fragrances naturally. Dab some of these oils on your wrist with a carrier oil and you’ll have a subtle sweet and flowery aroma.

For something a bit more masculine or woodsy, there are plenty of choices. Pine needles, sandalwood, and patchouli are all excellent choices that could be used for men or women. You can find blends through companies like Eden’s Garden or Plant Therapy that are ready to use and smell delightful.

Change up Your Diet

Did you know that the foods you eat can impact how you smell? This means that if you’re struggling to cover up strong aromas from your body, you may want to check what goes in your mouth. Try adding lemon water and probiotics to your diet daily. These not only help with digestion, but they also can eliminate the internal environment that could be causing you to stink.

Conclusion

There are plenty of ways to smell great. While you may love wearing perfume for important dates and special occasions, using natural products and options can help you smell good even on regular days. Watch what you eat, check your body odor, and add in delightful aromas from flowers to trees and so much more.
