veagn father's day recipes healthy voyagerTo grill vegetables during the winter, you need the right equipment, cut all the veggies into the right size, use olive oil and top it off with seasoning.

Vegetables are the healthiest diet for anyone. They have all the useful nutrients in the right quantity. Many tasty and healthy vegetables grow in winter. That is why people opt for grilled vegetables in this season. But it needs some special techniques to grill vegetables and not all can be grilled.

The Benefits Of Grilled Vegetables

Grilled vegetables have some great benefits. In an article published by WebMD, it was shown that harmful substances like PAHs and HCAs do not form on grilled vegetables, but they can form when grilling meat.

So grilling is not only the best option but also the best way to consume vegetables.

Why Should You Grill In Winter?

There are a few reasons why you should grill in winter. First, many fresh and healthy vegetables like Broccoli, Corn, Zucchini, Eggplant grow in plenty during winter. With an abundance of these resources, grilling vegetables could be a great way to spice up your diet.

Another great reason for grilling vegetables in winter is that there are many vacations, and thus family gatherings. These gatherings can become even more enjoyable with some delicious grilled vegetables. So winter is the perfect time for grilled vegetables.

The Equipment For Grilling Vegetables

Grilling vegetables do not require as much heavy equipment as meat. To perfectly grill vegetables, you will need the following equipment-

1. Grilling Machine

You certainly need a grilling machine to grill vegetables. Without the right one, you will fail to provide the right heat in the right amount. A favorite one is the Ninja Food Grill. Click here to check out the review of the Ninja food grill.

2. A Sharp Knife

Vegetables cannot be grilled as they are. Because heat will not enter the insides of the vegetables and some parts will remain raw. With the help of a sharp knife, cut the vegetables into smaller sizes that are easier to grill.

3. Tongs

While you put your vegetables on the grilling machine, they will be really hot. So if you want to flip them, using your hands would be a bad decision. But by using long-handled tongs, it will be easy to flip.

4. Marinating Brush

To enhance the flavor of your grilled vegetables, use marinades. To apply marinades over the hot vegetables, you will need a brush. Make sure that the bristles are made of silicon and not the traditional plastic bristles.

Tips For Enhanced Grilling

If you feel that your grilled vegetables feel a little mediocre and do not smell mouth-watering, then you can follow these tips to enhance your grilling-

1. Let The Machine Heat Up

If you are grilling outside on a winter morning, chances are your grill will be very cold. So before you start grilling your vegetables, keep the machine on for about 20-25 minutes and let it warm up.

2. Store The Food Inside

Grilled food is best enjoyed hot. But if you keep the food outside as you are grilling, it will get cold fast. So once they are grilled, take them inside the house.

3. All The Vegetables Need To Be Of The Same Thickness

If you are grilling multiple vegetables at once, then slice all the vegetables in the same thickness. This way, they will absorb heat equally and will be grilled at the same time.

4. Top It Off With Seasoning

Keep the seasonings as simple as possible. Since you want to taste the flavor of the grilled vegetables, the perfect seasoning would be a simple one but will bring aroma and mouth-watering taste to the food which you can buy za’atar online.

Kosher salt and black pepper are two of the most popular seasoning choices.

5. Use Olive Oil

Under the heat of the grill, you will often see that the vegetables are getting dry. If they dry up, the vegetables will turn into charcoal instead of grilled ones. So drizzle or brush with olive oil to keep the vegetables fresh and juicy.

6. Set The Right Temperature

The right temperature needs to be set if you do not want your vegetables to be raw or overcooked. Grill all vegetables in medium heat, about 350 °F to 450 °F. This will make the heat reach the core of the vegetables without getting them burnt.

Best Vegetables To Grill

As mentioned earlier not all vegetables can be grilled efficiently. Some veggies provide better taste and nutrient value while grilled than others. With that in mind, let us look at some winter vegetables that are best for grilling.

1. Broccoli

Broccoli is a green vegetable that is rich in vitamins and fiber, with very few calories. When broccoli is boiled traditionally, some vitamins may get lost. But if you grill the broccoli, it will retain all the nutrients.

2. Zucchini

Another amazing winter vegetable that can be grilled. They can be grilled to consume as side dishes rather than as the main item. This vegetable is full of folate and vitamin A, making high-grade healthy food.

3. Artichokes

Artichokes can be a rare and exotic vegetable that is best eaten grilled. They are rich in fiber and vitamin C, so if you consume them by grilling, you feel an authentic taste that you will not find by cooking or in any other way.

Time Required For Grilling vegetable

Different vegetables need different time frames for the perfect grilling. The time required to grill some popular winter vegetables are-

1. Artichokes

Artichokes need to be boiled for about 10-12 minutes. After that, they are grilled for 4-6 minutes. This brings out the flavor of Artichokes.

2. Zucchini

They need to be grilled for at least 5-7 minutes.

3. Eggplant

Grilling eggplants depend on the size and slice of the eggplant. But in general, it will be done within 5 to 7 minutes.

4. Cauliflower

Grilling cauliflowers will take much longer than most other vegetables. They take about 25 minutes to be perfectly grilled in medium heat.

Final Thoughts

Vegetables are the healthiest food a human can eat. Not only do they have all the valuable nutrients, but they also lack any harmful ones. So grill your vegetables before you eat them.
