Invisalign Is a Good Choice‏

teeth straighteningDo you ever look in the mirror and wish you had straighter teeth? Maybe you feel self-conscious about showing your teeth when you smile because you know they are not perfect. You might assume braces are your only option, but actually, there is another option for straighter teeth: Invisalign. Here are a few of the top reasons why Invisalign is a good choice to move your teeth properly and achieve the smile of your dreams.‏

‏Invisalign is nearly invisible.‏

‏One of the big things that keeps many people from getting braces is fear that people will see the braces and think less of them. Braces don’t exactly look professional, and you may not want photos of you smiling with metal brackets on your teeth. These are not problems with Invisalign.‏

‏Since the aligners are clear, plastic trays, they are barely visible on the surface of your teeth. Someone might be able to tell you are wearing them if they look at your mouth very, very closely, but how often is someone getting that close to you?‏

‏Because they are clear and nearly invisible, Invisalign aligners help you maintain a professional appearance. You don’t have to feel self-conscious smiling in pictures, either. This is so important in this Instagram era. The only people who have to know you have Invisalign are you and your dentist. ‏

‏You take Invisalign out when you eat.‏

‏There are no limits on the foods you can enjoy when using Invisalign. And that’s because you take the aligners out before you eat! Crunchy apples, nuts, chewy candies — if you can eat it now, you can eat it once you get Invisalign. Your dentist will actually tell you not to eat anything with the aligners in place because it will stain them. You can only drink water with your aligners in your mouth.‏

‏Usually, you’ll be told to wear Invisalign for 20 – 22 hours a day. This allows you plenty of time to take them out, enjoy a meal, and maybe socialize a little before you put them back in. The aligners are easy to snap in and out of place, so it won’t bother you to have to do this a few times a day when you want to eat.‏

‏You can brush your teeth normally when wearing Invisalign.‏

‏You take the aligners out before brushing your teeth, too. This means you don’t have to work around any dental appliances when doing your daily dental care routine. You can thoroughly brush, floss, and use mouthwash. This means you won’t get stinky breath like patients with braces sometimes do. It’s also better for your teeth. After all, you need to keep them clean if you want to avoid cavities. It would be silly to trade misaligned teeth for tooth decay.‏

‏Invisalign does not irritate your gums and cheeks.‏

‏Wearing braces can actually be painful. Not only are they moving your teeth, which hurts a little, but the metal brackets and wires can cause sores on your cheeks and gums. Invisalign can move your teeth properly without causing this irritation.‏

‏Yes, you might have some jaw soreness after you switch to a new set of aligners. However, you won’t get rubs on your cheeks when you chew and move your mouth. You won’t have bleeding gums or have to worry about getting poked with a wire in the middle of the night, and that is so freeing.‏

‏Invisalign only requires occasional, easy dental checkups.‏

‏One of the big challenges that comes with wearing braces is having to attend regular orthodontist appointments to have the braces tightened. This can really eat into your schedule, especially if you’re a busy adult who works or goes to college.‏

‏Invisalign is so much more convenient in this way. You get several months’ worth of aligners every time you visit your dentist, so you really only need occasional checkups during your time with Invisalign. This saves you time and hassle. Who wants to drive back and forth from the dentist’s office more times than they have to? You just switch to a new aligner every two weeks, on average, and your teeth get straighter and straighter. ‏

‏If you need to reschedule an appointment or two while wearing Invisalign, it’s also not a huge deal. Your checkups will typically be scheduled before you are due to run out of aligners, so you can reschedule a week or two later and not suffer any serious consequences. This is really nice to know when you’re always busy and having to move things around.‏

‏Invisalign is great for multiple age groups.‏

‏Invisalign is one of the most versatile types of dental treatment for misaligned teeth. It’s a really common choice for adults who don’t want to deal with the pain and appearance of braces. But it can also work really well for adolescents and for older teens. Younger patients sometimes need to wear Invisalign a little longer than adults, but they can still get straight teeth in under two years in most cases. And as convenient as Invisalign is, those two years can really fly by.‏

‏You can use Invisalign together with myofunctional therapy.‏

‏Do you deal with a misaligned or improperly positioned jaw, either naturally or as the result of an accident? Getting both your teeth and your jaw aligned can be quite an undertaking. Invisalign will align your teeth, but it’s not related to myofunctional therapy. You can use Invisalign to straighten your teeth while you’re working with a myofunctional therapist to help strengthen and rebuild the muscle associated with your jaw and face. ‏

‏Invisalign is one of the best types of dental treatment to move your teeth properly and achieve a proper alignment. Since you can remove the aligners, you can maintain your current diet and keep your teeth clean. It’s really nice to know that your appearance won’t be impacted by the aligners and that you can use them in conjunction with myofunctional therapy, if needed. Regardless of your age and life circumstances, Invisalign can be a really smart choice for straighter teeth. Schedule an appointment now to straighten your teeth with the Invisalign Dentist in boynton beach.
